Mega Rad Gun Thread

The first two characters mean roughly "machine-linkage" and the last simply "gun." They also had specific names for certain firearms. Tanegashima is both a place name and the name of the type of arquebus used in the eponymous battle.

The character for "machine" was probably adopted in the fourth century, but also appears in reference to CNC machines and the like.

It originally meant loom lol
Tanegashima is an island where Portugal sold muskets (tanegashima teppou) to Japan. It's not the name of a battle, and there's a rocket launch pad there now. Teppou or juu are words for firearms themselves.

So I do like my Sig Sauer We The People 1911.

Problem is California still had no guns for sale and with Biden potentially getting closer to the White House, I will have to settle for the Mini 14 over the AR 556 when they become available.

You probably had your heart set on the AR, but if it makes you feel better I'll tell you that the Mini 14 is perfectly serviceable for similar purposes and plenty of fun to shoot. Also cheaper so you have more money to spend on ammo. Obviously someone with a decent AR at a comp of similar or better skill will take your lunch money, but for any other purpose it's actually pretty decent and I think outperforms an AR when it comes to viability as a truck gun since it's a plain looking wood stock rifle and not a scary looking death machine that the first suburban liberal pussy would run away crying in fear of.

Biden is going to go after everything.
I know I'm late on this, but let's hope he gets elected and then does this. Holy shit would that be awesome. So much salt, so many good memes, and the golden opportunity to become a black market arms dealer. Seriously, it'll be great.

I think they'll do everything they can to prevent things going to the Supreme Court, actually, especially if Biden can't pull off some FDR style court packing (which he probably won't).

If our current Court gets their hands on shit we might suddenly get a lot of rights back re: 2nd Amendment.

I assure you it wouldn't be "awesome". Nothing good ever comes from more government control.

There won't be mass gun confiscation under Biden in the same way there wasn't under Obama. Remember Obama said that not banning guns was the biggest regret of his presidency. In order to pass a sweeping gun ban Biden would need to pack the Supreme Court, which he won't get the votes for.

Vermin Supreme was the real pro gun candidate anyway.

Good news on the ammo search, Vista outdoors who just bought remington's ammo business have announced that they're planning to nearly double the number of workers at the plant.

Thank Christ. I'm looking forward to the panic settling down once people realize that Biden can't do shit regarding guns because -SURPRISE- the President ain't a king and the Corona nonsense subsides.

Republicans don't seem too enthusiastic about keeping the Senate majority. Think of the dignity they might lose if they try to win!

I am stuck buying airguns since literally no bullets or ammo are for sale anywhere. Everything is sold out.
I stopped by the local Bass Pro this weekend - still no handgun and rifle ammo except for some oddball calibers. I saw some .454 Casull, .224 Valkyrie? And .25-06. Strangely, they had an end cap full of .223 - limit 2 boxes per customer. (All ammo was limited) Plenty of shotgun shells - It’s got me thinking about working on my skeet shooting during this panic. No reloading components to be found. Looked like plenty of guns for purchase - good luck finding ammo for them. Right now, my suggestion would be to pick up a rifle in one of those oddball calibers, or a shotgun; birdshot is better than nothing.
