I cannot imagine a worse political platform to run on. Even people who are generally pro-urbanization and pro-revitalization don't like to run on the ticket. And everyone hates it when the local park or the heritage business that's been in the neighborhood since 1930 gets torn down for some hipster condominiums. And lots of people remember the housing crash in '08 and distinctly remember how the real estate developers went laughing all the way to the bank while everyone else scrambled for cover.

Hell, running on the Kill Puppies ticket would at least net you votes from crazy catladies and PETA.

Started watching the new "The Craft" movie.

Found out that one of the coven's members is "a trans girl".

Turned it off.

I'm sure that the Old Ones are totally accepting of your made up gender and surely it won't destroy any magic you idiots try to do.

I skimmed through this because I’m a fan of the first one and it’s absolute dog shit with none of the goth mean girl fun of the original. They’re fortunate they could covid VOD this because it would’ve bombed on theatrical release.

Of the cast only the black girl is cute and has any screen presence. The troon has maybe ten lines in the entire film and zero story; he mostly just looms in the background, towering over the actual girls and issues the occasional “Yeah” or “Totally”. Anyone who remembers the original knows that each of the four teen witches has her own side plot aside from the central conflict. There’s none of that here. The actor is genuinely bad; I’m guessing they either cut his part or he was just cast for woke PR points.

I looked it up just for you, you're welcome. I remembered hearing about it back then. The actor is a gay man, and the character is not a troon per say, but genderqueer, which I have no idea what that means, either genderfluid or nonbinary. The show had mixed reviews from the woke crowd, it was progressive for not making the “mean girls” rich thin white girls, but it showed minorities in a bad light by making them bullies... You know, everything is wrong somehow. It mostly bombed because just before it was released there was a school shooting in the US, they pushed it back and another one followed. Eventually they cut out a couple scenes and put the episodes out on consecutive days or something. The releases were just generally a mess. About the Heathers themselves: ”There’s body-positive bully Heather Chandler (Melanie Field), brooch-wearing genderqueer Heather Duke (28-year-old Brendan Scannell) and Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews), a bisexual black woman.”

Take Polygon's review about Cyberpunk 2077 for instance (just cause it's the most recent example), I would argue that Cyberpunk has given people by far the most leniency in terms of gender customization, yet it's still not enough, they demand to be able to change their pronouns, the posters with trannies are too sexualized, it's never enough. Another example being how they demand that they should be allowed to self-diagnose and yet still be prescribed hormones still, it's hilariously sad. Thankfully the country I'm from is based and tells trannies to gtfo (for now..)
