General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Backseaters only detract from the streamer's enjoyment if the streamer lets it detract from their enjoyment. Like I said, you also got cases like Korone who turns backseaters into a mocking spectacle, which, in turn, provides more entertainment value for the audience. Calli's also mentioned that she's been tempted several times to do the exact opposite of what backseaters tell her to do just to piss them off and make them leave the stream.
Fair enough. I know Ame does that with her chat, so its mutual flame back and forth. Gura’s Minecraft is like that as well, now that I think about it.
Ina is so chill that people can't use her as a medium to let out a human's innate desire to be a retard, so there's no way her fanbase can be that good.
Flaggers try, they just get called out by actual hibernating takos without fail. Have not seen a single Ina stream (excepting Sakuna, maybe) that goes by without a form of tako oc.

Which, on that note, I feel like I should address: I don't know why you fags care so damn much about backseaters. They're always gonna be there, no matter how much you tell them to shut the fuck up. Stop getting so invested in them. Report and move on, like the rules say. It's on the streamer whether or not to heed them.

Or you can turn it into part of the entertainment value, like Korone did with that one backseater recently.
We’re watching chuubas for their enjoyment. Backseaters detract from the streamer’s enjoyment, and thus our enjoyment. Personally though I get how it’d be fighting a losing battle, so I don’t even try.
The Japanese chat has its fair share of backseaters. They just finesse it a bit better. Even then, you get the occasional smackdown of the J-chat when it gets too overbearing. Luna's "shut up!" wasn't just to the English speakers when she was playing Super Metroid--there were Japanese guys telling her how to play as well.

Overall, though, the Japanese chat is better behaved, from what I can tell. I've heard (but not confirmed) that there is a degree of frustration with the English chat among the Japanese viewers. I can't say I blame them.

Maybe Japanese chat is as bad as EN and I just don't know cause I don't speak moon runes, but the lack of emotes just makes it 50% less cancerous for me

im wondering why YAGOO still not considering to make waifu gacha game like idolm@ster or bandori but with hololive talent, that seems easy money + his dream about having idol group like akb48 can live on. like the talent mostly have done cover song as well. as much as its not genre western market like, but this kind of game is what japanese like as well, so seems like a win win situation.
You're gonna need tons of money and fanbase to go that route. Games like that still need both money and skill cost to create and run

By the way, anyone know when Ame will plays Cyberpunk? I want to see how it goes, maybe if it's successful enough the other Holo girls would play it. Here's hoping Korone going on a marathon stream for that

If anyone uses this sentiment for virtue signaling (in the way of, "Shame on you! Don't you know how much the JPbros can't stand you?!"), then the only right way to respond is by going "Fuck what the nips say, 'MURRICA #1." Embody the ghost of Commodore Matthew Perry and open those fucking borders.

I'm lying. The actual right way to respond is to ignore their bullshit. But the idea of shitposting about it is fun.

I know you can make the guy have a small dick or a big dick but can you make the girl have a shallow vagina or a deep vagina? Which would Ame choose

Ame's playing CPK2077 sometimes next week, due to pc problems. Also Calli said she's got her eyes set on it aswell so they're both gonna have a playthrough of it, which is interesting.

If i had to speculate, Miko would probably play it aswell and surely Botan gonna check the game out as a self-respecting gamer would

I'm glad that Gura (much like I) largely ignores her chat and instead focuses on whatever game she's playing. The only consistent exception seems to be the Minecraft streams but it's not like there's much to focus on during that game.

To be fair, she made a compelling statement.
I'm glad that Polka is joining on the short video train with the others.

The problem with those two fandoms is that one is full of edgelords because come on, Calli avatar is the most edgy thing that hololive has shitted on years, considering her personality she is like anime Marilyn Manson, Chumbuds in other hand attract those kind of people (remember that gura is still the tiniest of all hololive) so the autism is tenfold but she for some reason managed to make them behave by throwing some bones at them and they go like idiots for it (the Ame milk comes to mind)

Teamates are exactly what you believe they are when you see Watson, FPS dudebros backseaters horny fuckers but considering Watson is not so different and she roast them from time to time for being imbeciles they are made to each other, Ina sadly has the tendency that her cult attract the ever depressed twitter artists that need a safety plushie because everything give them anxiety attacks, the only thing that i approve of them is that they gatekeep harder than the others for some reason even when her fandom is the most accessible one (aka the normal artist that are not faggots keep the snowflakes at bay)

And then you get KFP that they are like /tg/, when they get their minds of it they get shit done and are the most normal of the bunch for some odd reason like today that they behaved not shitting in Youtube for nuking her channel
Calli's avatar attracted a lot of edgelords, and Calli herself kind of is one when she isn't being a massive dork. While it's hard to tell since we don't have access to her channel analytics, a sampling of the Discord crowd and the SC amounts would say that her audience skews the oldest simply because of how much money she gets thrown at her regularly from everyone. Most of her more vocal audience members are a bunch of millennials who are have more money than sense or just have way too much money in general; I've become acquainted with StormTAG and while I have no idea what he does for a living, he makes a ton of money doing something and is in his mid 30s. This lines up with a lot of her other big donors and audience members in general being people with established careers. She still attracts a fuckton of edgy teens but the people who tend to talk the most, or at least the ones I talk to, are all just people with soul draining day jobs who enjoy her and her music.

Gura's fans are very hard to pin down. If you were to believe Venti, you'd think they'd be a bunch of degenerate lolicons who want to fuck a fish. The chumbuds are less that and more spergy Senzawa fans who may or may not also be lolicons. More people know Gura from her days as a shitposter than her time as a hololive star and I believe that she has been the worst kept secret in all of HoloEN, with Karen being a very close second simply due to how many times she doxxed herself (2 self name drops and liking Calli art as Dice). Conversely, due to the sheer size of her audience and the average superchat amount (I don't see Gura having a lot of whales), it's safe to say her audience skews the youngest.

Ame's fans being just as toxic as she is makes sense, but she can dish out as much as she takes it so I'm in agreement with you there.

I still have no idea what to make of Ina's fanbase since most of them seem like they're just fine but I'll take your word for it that they're a bunch of unstable artists who are looking for a security blanket. It makes some amount of sense even though Ina herself has a pretty good head on her shoulders and doesn't really excude that energy at all. On that note, does anyone have any idea what her day job is? I'm tempted to say "commissions" but she does those gacha splashes and skin designs so infrequently that I have a hard time to believe that her change of pace job is basically the exact same as her normal job.

Kiara's fans are way too chaotic but at least they're all pretty nice. They're the best example of the audience bieng a mirror of the streamer; Kiara may exude a lot of energy but she is also incredibly driven and focused when she needs to be. Getting the talk show off the ground was a big thing for her and I'm proud she was able to do it, and she'll only get more comfortable with the format as time goes on. She's shown the most rapid growth in terms of being a streamer than the other ones; Calli has yet to find her stride, Ina found a niche and settled into it without really needing to grow, and both Gura and Ame already had established streaming etiquette prior and came into hololive already knowing what to do.

You guys are all making the huge mistake of reading the chat.
We're mostly talking about the fan communities that exist outside the streams.

From the bilingual people, it can be just as bad, just in a different way.

I speak/read a little bit (enough to follow Calli's & Korone's Keep Talking stream easily). Usually, the chat moves too fast for me but sometimes I scroll up to try to get an idea.

Someone here mentioned the other day how the ES chat is worse than the EN. Christ, is that true.

I hope that's not how I came off. I've only seen them complain once or twice and that was around the Aloe shennanigans when ES and EN started fighting in pre-stream chat. A couple of J-fans I know of have been pretty helpful but they're too polite and have that typical "don't want to rock the boat" mentality so I've not been able to tease out what they REALLY think yet.

From the bilingual people, it can be just as bad, just in a different way.
Like mistranslating on purpose? Some time ago, Luna was confused by some "cute noise" comments and JP chat made it sound like EN fans thought she was making annoying sounds. I dunno if it was an accident (lost in translation) but she jokingly chewed them out when she figured it out.

---

Tl;dr, I think the JP chat is overall better behaved but it is not perfect and retarded fans pop up there quite often as well, just not as much.

Ame's playing CPK2077 sometimes next week, due to pc problems. Also Calli said she's got her eyes set on it aswell so they're both gonna have a playthrough of it, which is interesting.

It's launching with bugs, which is not unusual. Day-One Patch isn't going to fix them all so expect hijinx. I'm interested but not really hyped for the EN playthroughs. Any JP playthroughs, on the other hand, especially if Miko or Botan play, now that's worth looking into.

It's a shame but I doubt we'll get any decent-length subbed highlight videos out of them, though. The Vtuber subbers all seem to shit out nothing but quick clips of ecchi conversation anymore.

And Demondice's song of the day iiiis
Soundless
Chosen cause Kakigori Galaxy Astronaut is my favorite album/EP of hers and only a single song from it has been posted here, that's blasphemy.

This vaguely counts as vtuber shit right?

Also

I don't see ES that often and that's the only reason I would declare that statement as a negative

I don't actively participate in the spergy chat of any vtuber really(like many have said, there isn't really a good HoloENchat), but I actually do enjoy vtubers who call chat out for being dickheads.

Although I don't understand Japanese, The EN newfag viewers on the HoloJP chats have to be the worst, They are literally there to spam the meme of a clip they have seen. absolute cringe.

I'm not sure what people saying Gura ignores chat are smoking. She regularly polls chat, and sometimes somehow picks out specific comments from the flood to respond to. The Minecraft streams are a lot more chat-focused (in the unscheduled one from the other day, she said "I didn't really have a plan for what to do, I just wanted to talk to you guys"), but she absolutely pays attention to the chat in most non-collab streams.
