First and foremost, Ahuviya is a friend of mine. She's asked me to "leave ethnicity the hell out of it", and as her friend I'm going to respect her wishes. Other than that, anything is fair game. I see her (semi)regularly in person, and was at one point engaged to her, so I should be able to fill in any knowledge gaps @Weeping With Pity can't.

I've been watching the forums for a while and you guys have invited me more than once, so here I am. I hope starting a new thread like this isn't too forward of me. Please let me know if I'm breaking any rules; this is your website and I'm a guest and I want to respect the way you do things.

A brief-ish history of Ahuviya and me: I got to know her just towards the end of her anime phase. She was still working when I first 'met' her (online), but by the time we started dating (long-distance; I was 17 at the time and still with my biological parents in California) I believe she had quit. Time passed, I moved to Oregon, and when I turned 18 I moved out to Philly to be with her. That lasted about a month before we had a falling out and I came back to Oregon. But then we made up and she followed me out to Oregon. Then we had another, more permanent falling out, and she moved to Oakland/SF. A couple years pass and we make up again and we've been friends since. This is, of course, very condensed, so please ask any questions you have!

A note on pronouns: I use her preferred pronouns. I have no reason to doubt she's trans, I've known her long enough and have seen her dysphoria at its worst.

What is the extent of ADF's homelessness? Is he legit living on the streets of Portland or is he couch surfing/renting cheap motels?

Yes, she's legit sleeping under bridges. Sometimes I let her stay with me when she's here but right now I can't. I'm trying to convince her to save her stays for when it's cold/snowing in the winter. The place I stay at only lets people sleep in your room 20 times and that's it.

I don't know how to find the screenshot, but as I'm sure some will remember, I pointed it out and got my ass chewed out on her fb. When she was talking about getting her toes tattooed.

Why doesn't ADF try to find a decent place to live in a smaller area he can afford with his SSI income? Why is he attracted to large cities like Portland, Philadelphia, etc, when he knows he can't afford to live there?

Becuase larger cities are statistically more LGBT-friendly. It's the same reason I moved from a small town.

I wouldn't use the word "waste", but I definitely agree that her SSI money could be better spent on things like housing.

Her mom. As far as I know, her mother has forgiven her for the one incident in which an altercation between them became physical. They have a great relationship and her mom is an amazing, very strong woman. I had the honor of meeting her when I was with Ahuviya in Jersey.

Both Oregon and California cover it under their state insurance. I think she's wanting to get it covered that way.
