In the same way, i've seen lately that sometimes female samurai are brought up every now and then to say that japan is based and that weebs are just deluded.Also, there were no black roman warriors, and the other things were only mentioned because back then they were so rare as to be noteworthy.
They were very few female samurai and they only became soldiers because, usually, their husband died and they had to take up the responsabilities of their husband as a leader of their clan until they got married again.
I get they want some kickass female warriors, but if they want some that are historically accurate, just look at the amazons. But i guess they are too white for their taste.
