NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

edit: Go here for today's tranny ban harvest

Summary:
Their insanity over Cyberpunk 2077 has been going on for many months now, probably well over a year actually. The reason is imaginary "transphobia" from developer CDPR.
Things have gone into overdrive recently. It all started with a poster called "Black Chamber" who was destined to create the official thread for the game. But things didn't really go that way...If you wanna catch up on the full story this is a good starting point:
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/neogaf-resetera.9636/page-1538#post-7889010
OMG, GUYS! I'm crying and shaking right now. The poor trannies! :crocodile:

The retardera jannies have conspicuously made it their business, essentially, to provide these narcissists with their supply and protect their egos.
In a broader sense they're feeding the narcissism of the entire forum. A key reason TransEra's antics are continually tolerated, I suspect, is to support the community's collective delusion of moral superiority. ResetEra is the progressive, tolerant, rainbow flag safe space of gaming forums, which led the exodus away from the Trumpist alt-right hellhole of NeoGAF and into the promised land. It's all just marketing, branding, a bunch of hilarious fucking horseshit, but people there believe it, and they stick around the community because they believe it.

When the troon rage boils over it threatens that delusion, which threatens the forum's brand, which threatens Cerium's revenue stream. And that's where I tend to think the troons get their leverage.

Buckle up because this shitstorm's been brewing for some time. Gonna spoil this shit so people can skip this post without having to scroll much.

It all started when Kiwi Farms thread-haver Ana Valens spotted the now infamous MIX IT UP drink ad in one of the trailers released by CD Projekt Red and whined about it on Twitter. The complaint was that the ad dehumanized trans bodies by using them as tools to sell a product, ignoring that dehumanization of people by companies is a central theme in Cyberpunk. This caused a very small amount of controversy. Nothing big, but it was just a sign of things to come.

Some time after, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account made the mistake of tweeting the "I identify as an attack helicopter" joke which caused a small amount of controversy again, because as we all know that joke was created specifically to make fun of trans people and not the hundred thousand genders from Tumblr.

Things got worse when it was found out that your sex in the game was linked to the voice you pick, regardless of how your character looks. This caused these people to complain even more, because linking sex to how your voice sounds is transphobic. Then Cyberpunk had a cosplay contest and one of the finalists was a *gasp* CIS WOMAN cosplaying as the woman with a dick in the MIX IT UP ad, which is transmisogynistic because reasons. Then it was discovered CDPR made it's employees go through crunch, which TransEra couldn't give a shit about (their beloved The Last of Us 2 did it as well and they don't care) but it's a useful point for them to attack CDPR with.

All of these caused TransEra to want to cancel the game, but the ResetEra staff was not having it because preventing A VIDEO GAME FORUM from talking about the most hyped release of the year was a sure way to lose revenue. So TransEra did the closest possible thing they could: Kyuuji created a thread to tell everyone how transphobic and full of shitlords CDPR are and they kept constantly going to Black Chamber's Cyberpunk 2077 thread for the game to make it go off topic by complaining people wanted to actually talk about the game instead of transphobia. This continued to foment for a while.

Black Chamber was the creator the Cyberpunk 2077 thread and was his responsibility to create the OP for the game when it eventually launched. This caused TransEra to become incensed because his thread was way more popular than Kyuuji's, and it didn't have any warnings about how much of a bad person people were for wanting to play the game. They would constantly go to his thread and try to drive it off-topic, but people who wanted to talk about the game eventually wised up and ignored those posts which caused them to get assblasted like never before.

Kyuuji then one day "innocently" asked Black Chamber if he was going to include warnings about CDPR's horrible, terrible transphobia on the OP of his thread, warnings written by TransEra members of course. Black Chamber answered that EVERYONE was welcome in the Cyberpunk thread. This caused TransEra to erupt in a blaze of fury, because he did not immediately bow to their demands and add their disclaimers on his thread. Unbeknownst to them, Black Chamber was planning to add something of the sort to the thread, it just was not ready yet and he wanted to surprise everyone. But alas it was too late and TransEra was already clamoring for his head for ignoring their community. Kyuuji used an alt account and leaked part of a PM between them and Black Chamber, where it was revealed Kyuuji outright stated their objective of shitting up every Cyberpunk thread possible if people were just gonna ignore their thread.

The result was Black Chamber agreed to get banned for 30 days from ResetEra and gave the responsibility of creating the Cyberpunk 2077 OP to the mods, specifically Android Sophia, a transwoman herself. But TransEra was still furious that Black Chamber got to choose his own punishment and went digging on his past, and they found a tweet where Black Chamber joked about tipping his MAGA hat at someone. His 30 day ban became permanent after that was posted on the site and Black Chamber became a pariah on ResetEra, with n-word enthusiast B-Dubbz asking everyone to message the mods if they suspected any other member were Trump supporters. All was well in the world, except...

After being booted from Era, Black Chamber got a warm reception on NeoGAF where he revealed Kyuuji had been aggressively bothering him for months on end about the Cyberpunk threads. He also revealed PMs he had with ResetEra mods, where Android Sophia agreed Kyuuji was wrong but couldn't do anything about it. And how, once the MAGA tweet came to light the mods completely cut contact with him without allowing him to explain himself. The truth being, the MAGA tweet was a joke and Black Chamber had never voted in his entire life.

Meanwhile on ResetEra, Kyuuji's "CDPR Transphobia" thread got pinned, Cyberpunk was allowed one thread created by Android Sophia with huge transphobia disclaimers on the top of every page so that people would not be able to miss them, and the only thread where Cyberpunk reviews were allowed to be posted was one specifically focusing on reviews that mentioned transphobia, and the official Cyberpunk thread was locked for one entire day when the game got released for Trans Remembrance Day. But TransEra was pissed and wanted more, because from their point of view the ResetEra staff hadn't done nearly enough.

Android Sophia and three other trans members of the ResetEra staff went to Discord to talk with TransEra, with predictable poor results. This resulted in Android Sophia resigning, and more and more complaints against the staff for "not caring about the trans community" on the forum. One of those complaints was from an user who got banned, and the ban message being "Does not want to be here.". That only fanned the flames even more, and one user by the name of A.By, who had been present on the Discord talk before, to message mod Poodlestrike about it. Poodlestrike (who was still angry about how the other mods were treated on Discord but didn't participate in the talks himself) told A.By that the mods were going to talk with the banner user, not anyone else, and said A.By to go pound sand.

For those who have English Second Language and don't know, "Go pound sand" is just an informal way to tell someone off. It literally just means "go away" and "stop bothering me". And boy howdy, TransEra did not take to someone from their group being told NO lightly. Someone from TransEra had been told NO by a moderator, which means the whole staff is transphobic and the website isn't safe for the trans community. Cue the implosion happening in real time.

And that, boys and girls, is how we ended up where we are now. With ResetEra burning while the entire inernet points and laughs at it while enjoying the popcorn harvest.

TL;DR
TransEra finds reasons to hate Cyberpunk and will never let go.
TransEra gets assblasted people want to talk about the game and can ignore their constant transphobia whining.
TransEra gets the Cyberpunk thread's OP banned for not sucking their girldicks the very second they ordered to.
After getting all they asked for TransEra still wants more, one moderator finally has enough and tells one of them to go pound sand.
TransEra goes batshit crazy and is setting the website ablaze. Beatings will continue until the mods break down.

These people are legitimately insane. Not even Lovecraft could write a story so demented.

Are ree-era people just saying you are not allowed to ever insult a trans people even with non gender-specific insults?
Telling someone to "pound sand" (or more commonly in my area, "pound salt") is just a standard way to tell someone to fuck-off. There is no relation to trans identity or trans-specific about it. It's just generic slang.

Any insult or even mild criticism to anyone that they deem to be on their side is "transphobia", or "racism" or "misogyny" (depending on the subject) to these people. Troons are considered above reproach and the only possible reason someone might tell them to fuck-off is clearly a bigot.

I, for one, am fucking loving "pound sand" becoming our new transphobic dog-whistle

All this autism over a vendetta these people have been holding onto for five years straight. At this point, it would surprise me if any of the troons on ResetEra even remember what the supposed 'transphobia' was.

I don't understand why 'pound sand' is so offensive to trans people. Are ree-era people just saying you are not allowed to ever insult a trans people even with non gender-specific insults?
Anyway, I look forward to whatever dumb forum these dopes makes. It'll get blown up by the same insane people that blew up the last two ones

Everything on the planet's offensive to trannies. That's just how it is when you're a mentally unstable freak of nature - You start attributing everything around you to malice, because everything around you is destroying the little fantasy world you've built for yourself. Ever wonder why trannies demand every space they worm their way into change everything just to accommodate them? That's why. If even one person shatters the illusion, it'll all tumble right down into the gutter.

That's why watching their enablers get attacked by them will never not put a huge smile on my face. 90% of people on this planet would know better than to hang out with trannies - yet because of the social standards they themselves helped establish, they can't say a word about this faggotry without being labelled transphobic. They're now stuck trying their damnest to appease the unappeasable. And it always blows up in their faces.

Welcome to hell, faggots.

People are having literal mental breakdowns over something completely insignificant. The whole point of the "transphobic" poster was to show corporations dehumanizing people and wasn't saying "trans bad". The attack helicopter meme is making fun of LARPers who pretend that stuff like being a furry makes them trans. And anyone can cosplay whatever they want especially when this game is apparently heavy on body-mod stuff. Furthermore, no one is holding a gun to anybody's head and forcing them to play the stupid thing. I can't imagine being so fragile that I melt down and start destroying friendships with people all because a game I don't want to play just happens to exist and people are talking about it. Whatever happened to just not viewing the things that aren't appealing to you? Not everything needs to be tailored to your specific tastes, and just because you take offense to something doesn't mean that everyone else in your group feels the same way about it.

Any new forum is going to need normies, though. TransEra views normies as prey for their narcissist attention-seeking but they don't have the charisma or ability to offer anything to make normies leave ResetEra. Maybe they could get some of the cis-gender sjws to come along.

It'll be the equivalent of the Something Awful offshoot, Bread and Roses. I think it spluttered out.

It's just hilarious how little self reflection there is. Neogaf exploded. Resetera seems to always be on the verge of exploding. The same people are always behind it, but will they look in the mirror? Nah. You don't bow to every one of our whims and you politely tell one of our trans people (who, for all we know, the mod didn't even realize was trans) to fuck off. Die you fucking bigot and hand over the keys the industry is OURS NOW.

Kinda glad that nobody in the games industry seems to take them seriously anymore. I mean, except Jason Schreier, but he's an idiot.

Maybe they are thinking of "pound" in the sexual sense, in which case you need a dong to "pound" someone, so therefor it's transphobia because you are calling attention to the fact they have a dong? IDK, that's the only reason I can think of that the phrase could be construed as specifically transphobic, and it took a bit of mental gymnastics to get there.
