They'd better fucking pray the mod tools they release is equivalent to the GECK or this game is fucked. Nobody is going to buy DLC for it. I sure as fuck won't. There's so much shit here I'm looking at that mods need to fix and if its a fenced in creator like 'The Witcher 3' was, then I'm not spending another fucking cent on this. Because lets be real, I don't expect them to completely re-work the weapon and armor system. And God help them if they put weapon number limiters in so that you can inflate the weapon variety or some shit like that where its basically hard coded and impossible to re-work game systems. Then I'm completely done.

I know you're joking - least I hope so. while CDPR might be the least shit devs out there (jury's still out at this point), even bethesda which mostly sells their biggest games due to how much people crowbarred open the engine still has to rely on the community, which only exists because they use the same easily moddable engine shortsighted people like to complain about. no one is gonna do that for any other engine, if there's even enough drive for it (anyone with that expertise will hardly waste their time on that, for free). how extensive are the mods GTA gets, which has a much bigger playerbase and name? how many did witcher 3 get, which was probably the biggest thing since skyrim considering how people kept jerking each other off over it?
and that's with ignoring for a moment that a dev team which released a game in this state has probably no capacity to release proper mod tools even if the company wanted to (on top all the legal wrangling and additional work required).
at best you'll get performance fixes (downgrades), superficial QOL shit and cut content finished as "free dlc" to get some good will back, but that's it.
next christmas then the first teaser for cyberpunk 2078 and a battle royal multiplayer.
I don't either. I literally cannot comprehend it.
If they went to a restaurant and got crappy food, they would write the place off and never go back again. Yet they can't do the same thing with video games.
I can't wrap my head around it.
"maybe they changed tho? the food can't be that bad when they're still in business, some of my colleagues went there and the food was fine. maybe it was an exception? besides, it's cheap and all my mates want to go here, so who am I to be spoil the fun..?!"
people are retarded, including me and you, down to rocket scientists. so even if we're aware of it, we still do it to some extend.
take video games for example, they are just another media and mainstream now, which has been part of the cultural glue for millennia - what else is there to talk about, what else is constantly changing with shit happening worth talking about? so if you don't play the latest AAA game, watched the latest blockbuster movie, don't keep up with any sports or listened to the latest mumble rap album, what else is there to talk about really? most people don't want to be the contrarian lone loser, so they keep up with the shit even if they might not personally enjoy it just to be part of the group, if they even are aware of it (doesn't help that most of them that do are spergs, if that's cause or effect is a whole other debate). fuck most people do it on social media (it's even in the name), where companies turned gossip and general communication into an advertisement platform.
heck talking about how shit something is means we are part of it - some of us hopefully were smarter not to pay any money for it, but then what are 60 bucks? nothing to most people, so they can blow it on literal shit, keeping those companies in business, and the cycle goes on...
maybe the real cyberpunk was the realizations we made along the way.
