Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

My last save file is 5.33MB. Had I actually bothered with those stupid races and messed around more with the police stuff my saves probably would've been fucked.
Reminds me of the save file sizes of Fallout 3 on the PS3 back in the day.
Every single time the game saves the file gets bigger to the point that it surpassed 30 MB while every single autosave did not stack in that version so that the game keeps crashing.
Do these problems still exist to this day?

AHAHAHAHAHAHA...Holy shit. All you had to do was make Fallout NV in a Cyberpunk setting and have it run decently and it would sell. Can't even get saves done right, and it's fucked to the point where the stance is "don't play it". I recommend everyone take that advice and get that refund for this trash.
I don't know what was so difficult. You have a TON of examples to follow in the genre, yet they make all the identical mistakes that people have made previously.
I get nostalgia and kinda wanting to be bethesda where people buy the same game for 10 years, but replicating their ps3 "features" is a bit much..

dnd and most games of that type have decades of official material they can just plunder for stories. fuck they could basically plagiarize shadowrun at this point, it's not like cyberpunk as a genre is something novel.
turns out you still need some talent for writing, maybe they should learn to code. thinking about it, maybe they tried, it would explain so much...

ah yes, those notorious guys who constantly get their games kicked off the biggest console storefront during christmas season, leaving the only option to either buy a copy retail (during corona no less) or get it send to you in a few days, because nothing drives impulse purchases like that. it's not like they need those sales anyway with their broad portfolio and all those different games they're cooking up right now...

so, how much stock do you own? apparently investors and shareholders are all gullible idiots who give companies free money without asking for anything in return, so you're right they probably don't care about the current PR shitshow. the game will keep selling millions like they always do (breaking 20 million next month, just wait!) and making all the money back and then some in the future, no need to worry, CD projekt will easily find money all the money they need if they have to in the future because we all know money grows on trees.

here's a nice little smootbrain bedtime story for you, it's about a struggling company that is also publicly traded, but never gets bought out or taken over, since they're all friends! nono you see, they only go bankrupt and their games stop getting made, no one would want to pick up the assets that still hold value or, you know, an established store front in case you want to compete with steam, because that's another thing their friends never want to do.

hope you like your next witcher and gog run by microsoft, ea or tencent. lol, right?
I mean, Cyberpunk 2077 itself is a PnP RPG with source books, scenarios and campaigns. They could have easily took the basics or used it for a skeleton but they didn't. They fell in love with Keanu and just made him a huge part.

A lot of crpg made in unity has this problems as well. The save file read everything from your inventory to dead enemies so the file keep getting bloated, making it prone to longer loading times and frequent crashes.

The story is great, the gameplay is ok, yeah, it has bugs but most modern game have them, specially AAA, eventualy those will be ironed out, but there no game breaking bugs.
Yeah, you will need a very expensive computer to run it 4k ultra settings with ray tracing on, but the game has plenty of options to play with to get decent fps.
The ps4 version should have been delayed.
Other than that, the game is good, but I think CD Proyekt Red made itself an easy target by not playing ball with game journos and the trans crowd.

Except the saves are fucked. You can't loot too many items. Game designer TMI powerlevel, that is a big problem especially with completionist fan players. Or asians who like to grind sidequests. I'm having it on shit graphics, game is fun enough for the pirate's bandwith, but suddenly you can't loot enemies or craft to save up on your save file size? What the ever living fuck.
Was Rian Johnson in charge of the save games? He subverted my expectations that the game was at least a fun mediocre game that you can complete as you wish.

Guess I'll try to loot only orange items and see if I can complete with that lol, but this is just CWC tier game design.

Lets hope the modders figure out a save editor that can scrub excess data or the devs are in kneck deep digital cyberspace diarrhea.

I played Tie Fighter where the TIEs had 3 color blotches, cockpit, and wing panels, and that was it, otherwise blank textures. I can easily find this game fun in low settings. But you know, saving in a progressive rpg is a must. This is some surreal shitty bad designs.

Save games are the most important thing in a progressive story role play game. and they fucked it up.

Cheat Engine is fun, but when you need to use it so your game is actually playable at the barest minimum, than you don goofed badly.

That's why i use mods on Bethesda games, disabling autosave and replace quicksave for a full one and deleting automatically the older one.
But this is more problematic than Skyrim PS3 save size it seems...

And the fact they had to push an update just to get the game to run over 30fps even on the new consoles. Its seemingly total inability to auto detect the hardware available to it and adapt (not using threading properly on AMD, not allocating CPU and GPU resources correctly).
And all the other shit we have been seeing.

Imagine thinking "It's not that bad" when the PSN ganked it from the store and refunds are being handed out like candy without even needing to delete the game.

lol im so glad i smelled the tumblrite coder bs a mile away and gave up super early on this game.

oh thats easy to explain, the industry now has the same issues movies do, theyre now 100 trillion dollar pieces that have to be the most amazing thing ever (in marketing) to compete. it cant be a smaller scale game with fine tuned details. it has to be gta futurepunk with a game world three times the size of texas and with so much attention to details microscopic organisms move in real time in the environment despite the players rarely being able to see them, So they make a polished trailer and then try to slap on a game within the very extensive free world with a haphazard design framework. imo open world was one of the worst design trends to blight gaming since, while cool sometimes, now everything has to abandon the tighter and more unique challenges offered by some linearity and expectations with how players will interact with a level instead you have to throw enemies in an open environment and usually just give up and set a basic ai routine for an enemy thatll be approached from any angle and easily killed.

I like the open world genre, to me gaming was always about choice so more choices = better. They only have to make those choices work and not crap the game in a myriad of crashes and also try to implement new ideas and favour creativity instead of locking into the stupid ass franchises. I'm tired of seeing assasins creed 26 and gta 10. The fucking yearly garbo is what sent the triple As into the garbage bin not open world. That and the heinous idea that you should spend more in marketing than devving and the absolute geniusbrain games as a service shit. Ultimately the fault is the people who buy those piles of trash regardless of what genre or idea they're bringing to life. If you do not feed those frankesteinian abominations they just die silently in a corner.

If you ask me the best choice you got is indie studios that haven't been perverted yet by a board of ancient fucks that have issues finding the difference between an ipad and a playstation and trying to add them mobile twist for that 3x2 in special energy currency ideas since it makes more money.

From what i can gather the bug isn't about looting, but inventory size. I did a whole playthrough with crafting, full clear, savefile was at 5.7MB at the end. It's a dogshit problem but as long as you disassemble random trash like stray drinks/trash wep mods/trash cyberware mods/junk (or better yet just get the auto junk disassembly perk), it should be fine. It's still a retarded problem to have, but at least it's manageable.

Apparently not, one guy reported selling off a bunch of inventory, waiting for it to clear out of the vendor's buy-back area, and his savefile still being huge and broken. Something else is at play here.

Interesting, i'm not sure if even the sale data is the cause then. Because on my crafting playthrough i duped a whole bunch of mats just to see how much can gear be upgraded, so i essentially made 30k or so buybacks.

Fuck knows whats behind it, but i don't think it's just looting. First playthrough i had one corrupted save, reloaded quicksave before that and finished the game like nothing happened. Figured it's just the inventory size but if that's not the case, some weird shits going on in the background.

Investors expected this to be an easy return, yet it seemed to suck up more and more money and time with the numerous delays, then when it drops platforms all across the board are doing the unprecedented move and handing out refunds, including both Microsoft and Sony. Not only do they invest a fuck load of money on what should have been a beyond safe and profitable investment, but now they are being asked to return money that would go into making returns. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the first of many lawsuits.

This thread has been full of faggots since the very beginning and I can understand their disappointment. This game has failed us on a platitude of levels. I think most of you are being histrionic because you can never have a virtual or real girl hole. That being said, has anoyone run into this save file bug personally? Because the default file on ps4 is 12 meg pretty much.

You don't even need the dupe glitch. With the right build, you can craft thousands of Maxdoc Mk1s, dismantle them and get back an extra 40% in materials, and it just snowballs from there.

Until the game flips.

While we’re on the subject of world building, being a person who’s never played the pnp is there any inconsistencies with the canon?
