Trump Enslavement Syndrome - Orange man good. /r/The_Donald and any public demonstration of rabid pro-Trump enthusiasm in spite of all reason.

Yes they'd be insane not to sue. If they don't push back their business is ruined. A handful of news companies just told half of America they stole a presidential election.
The problem is a lot of the criticisms of these corporations are entirely correct. Not one of them produces a quality machine worthy of being used in an election. They may not have themselves stolen an election but the sheer number of defects in these devices calls into question the legitimacy of any close election, even if in the case of Trump, his accusations are entirely self-serving and mostly invented. He made it clear in the months leading up to the election that he was just going to scream fraud no matter what if he lost. So a lot of the criticisms of their product are substantially true. They'd have to show they deliberately lied about the others, or that the others damaged their reputation even more than the lack of quality of their own scandalously bad products. I.e. even if they didn't actually steal the election, their products are so shitty it is entirely reasonable for people to suspect that.

IANAL and that area of the law seems especially tricky so I guess we'll see and there's really no point in me armchair quarterbacking this further because it's out of my league. However just based on my limited experience observing the business lawsuits at companies I've worked with I'd be shocked if they at least aren't browbeat by the threat of lawfair into submission where they walk it all back. A lot of this stuff never seems to go to trial and they hash it all out on some lawyers office in my experience because it seems like one side or the other usually knows they fundamentally went too far and doesn't want to risk getting blown out or even wasting time in court.

"Don't follow the fake pastor" said the people following the fake second coming of Jesus.

Who could have seen that coming. I bet there were totally no plans for violence going on in that server.

I like how as time goes on seeing these insane shit on thedonald.win, the whole idea of them wondering "How did we get banned from Reddit? Fucking 1984 man" is hilarious in hindsight.

The problem is that the people with whom they're seeking to restore their reputations are all conspiracy theorists who wouldn't believe they didn't rig the election even if god himself came down from heaven and wrote it in the sky in letters of fire. Suing is really a waste of time and money.

I expect what'll happen is they'll wait for the furore to die down and then quietly change their name. It worked for Blackwater after they were caught executing civilians for fun, so it will probably work in this case. In any event, Dominion is kind of a stupid name for a voting machine company.

Oh man I almost forgot Erik Prince had popped back out of the shadows to get in some grifting while Trump was in charge. I sure hope that slimy fuck dies in jail.

I have worked on IOT. I have witnessed engineer and software developers attitudes towards the extra work needed to consider abstract security. No platform is secure 100%, and there are a lot of shitty, lazy software developers. Other countries most likely did attempt to interfere or break into our infrastructure during the election. I would trust that this election was more secure than other elections in the past, given the shift in government and military resources from a physical battlefield to cyberspace.

At the same time, almost the entire nation did have a paper trail to back up the machine counting, and hand recounts in areas have confirmed that they machines tallied worked within acceptable margins of error ( unless you buy into some conspiracy that the paper trail was fake. )

It's fun to watch the mental gymnastics when you point out that the Trump campaign never produced evidence of voter fraud in any of their cases
I keep seeing Trumpers sperg about the "mountains of evidence we've already seen", and it's like they're living in a different dimension or something.

They like to pretend that false evidence is still evidence. Because there is a mountain of false evidence, there's just no real evidence.
