I like to think the real reason they catfished Lucas was to TCAP him. I don't think the catfish is on the hook for anything. There's two theories here: Lucas got catfished, or a catfish used a real girl to entice Lucas. A catfish may be liable for IP infringement if they steal someone's identity, but that's about it. A catfish may be on the hook for fraud if they steal someone's Id and then get something of value from the victim, but it seems Lucas is entirely the benefactor of this exchange. He got a free ticket and free Uber ride, and maybe even a free hotel stay. Unless there's some law about luring tards across state lines, then I don't see any criminal act here. Furthermore, if Lucas is competent enough to not be committed or a ward of Washington State, then they are essentially giving him this freedom to be catfished, and thus it is not on the level of exploiting people confined to old folks homes or a guardian of someone with diminished mental capacity.

As for him getting beat to death and there being liability for that, it's not criminal law. A crime requires intent, which is lacking here. The intent was to lure Lucas to LA for who knows what, but if some bums beat him up then they are on the hook for that. Lucas could potentially sue in a civil court, but nothing ever came of his Starbucks suit, his Cloudfare/Kiwi/Youtube/Walter Fate suit, and nothing will come of this.

This may be extreme, but I have absolutely no sympathy for this diseased monstrosity. Where Lucas is concerned, by virtue of the fact he is such a horror of a human being, I don’t know if one can go too far.

There is evidence of his DV past, along with the fact he has tried grooming minors. He talked openly about lusting after his own nieces, and he clearly has fantasies of sexually abusing women.

As we’ve see in the past, when it suits him, he’s mentally ill. Now that he’s stuck and broke, he’ll pull the bipolar card. But what boggles the mind the most, is even with him in another state, far from home, broke and alone...he still resorts to bigotry and agephobia.

You didn’t get catfished for being 41, you got catfished for being an insufferable, narcissistic monster.

We will see if he ends up boarding the dog. If anyone has ever rode a greyhound bus, you know it is the worst way to travel. Those buses are full of banged up people. And they make a million stops. That would probably take around two days to make it all the way up to Spokane. That will be a rough trip for Lucas.
