Yeah, they've really been cracking down on "colonialism" and "dismissal of Native oppression" recently. Wonder if this is the next stage in the purity spiral now that nobody is willing to say anything good or bad about blacks for fear of being called a racist.
Nothing remotely horrific, like blood & gore. No moral quandaries. And probably a ban on political satire...No, wait. That's already in effect, apparently.

Is it my imagination, or are they getting even snottier with their actions?

I despise this idea that natives were just sitting around smoking peace pipes until the evil colonizers came along and shot them for their land. A setting like this presents plenty of opportunity to deal both with brutal settlers and belligerent tribals mad that somebody is occupying the empty lands on the coast. But noooo, it’s evil for whites to explore and make homes in empty spaces if it ever once belonged to someone a shade darker.

Historically speaking, Native Americans are known for fighting each other. And the ones in South America are famous for sacrificing people to appease the Sun God, among other things.

And as far as the American frontier goes, both sides aren't exactly "innocent."

This almost looks like a deliberate troll to yank RPGNet's chains... well done if it is.

What's more surprising is the ban length. Three days for this stuff? I'd have expected one month to a perma.
The real irony is that this isn't different than dungeon crawling for loot, the replace the dragon at the end with an oppressed minority.

Make no mistake, that's also going on the chopping block, just later than Muh Colonialist Opreshun. The same posters despise dungeon crawling, and typically have nothing contempt for D&D in general.

Reminder: the original reason RPGNet has a separate D&D forum at all is because the usual suspects could not help shitting up every single D&D thread with their hot takes. And this was fifteen years ago.

More faggotry, from the admins at RPGnet.

I'm sorry, what? 'Careless racist presumptuousness'? Hey, Arethusa, you faggot, how about you provide a factual counterargument instead of just 'how dare you challenge our noble savage indigenous peoples! BANNED'.

This doesn't make me MATI so much as it annoys me. It's so petty, so sloppy. Like 'I can't be arsed to actually do five minutes of research'.
For some reason they get mad when one also compares Native Americans to other nomadic peoples like the Xiongui. Actual professors don’t mind and neither do many Native Americans. But mention that to some blue haired freak and they lose their shit. I’ll look if I can find some screencaps from a while back: Some SJWs were really pissed when it was stated that the Dothraki from GoT had been partly inspired by the Comanche.

I'll bet. The Comanche were referred to as 'the Romans of the West' at one point, and not without reason.

They all want theit native indig peoples to be happy carefree folks, always sweeping the harder part of existence under the rug.

Idealized perceptions of native Americans are an odd aspect off the Western thinking, that it can be morally wrong to invade a culture without putting the culture on a pedastal is alien . If the European countries cannot be God it must obviously be Satan and everything about the cultures we persecuted must be an epitaph to our sins.

They are really sucking some native American dick this week.

There is literally an entire conversation about where Miguel is from in one of the first few episodes of Cobra Kai. His mother fled Ecuador when he was a baby. How do these people consume media without actually consuming it?

Edit: Also fuck you, Jason Strongbow's original costume is badass

Because they have no capacity for analysis or introspection.

Strongbow's costume is very 80's, but, y'know, I also grew up with Superfriends and Apache Chief. That's a pretty easy cringe bar to clear.

"OP has been vocal about being Chinook" where exactly? I don't see any reference to native ancestry in that post. Are they expecting posters to go through people's posting history to verify their ancestry? Maybe that's the next step, a place in the signature for pronouns and 23-and-me results. :drink:

They're about two Purity Cycles away from banning all games that aren't just sitting in a circle talking about your character's feelings.
They're not there already?

I say 1 cycle.

> if you say or express the wrong thing, you are in trouble for being offensive.
> So can we properly define language and terms so i know where the lines are?
> fuck you for your derailing!

Who was it that once said vagueness is the tool of tyranny?

I dunno, but I've always held the opinion that authoritarians and despots prefer their rules 'vague' or 'discretionary'.

Not only can they avoid dropping the hammer on their friends when they stray off the path, but they can also 'redefine' an issue so they can nail some poor bastard they don't like.

That was the Nazi's MO...Until the Nuremberg Trials happened.

Ok clearly at this point the mods are just looking for excuses to ban people and shriek RAYCISS! no matter what the context or situation.

Somehow their pants-shitting declarations that something is obviously racist (when it obviously isn't) and giving no reason for it is even more obnoxious than their tortured, self-important screeds about why something is Just So Problematic, I Can't Even, Take A Vacation And Leave The Thread.
