I do believe that people with VSDs/DSDs do in fact troon out at higher rates but it's driven largely by people with hormonal conditions, like severe
congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
If you're exposed to sex atypical levels of androgens in utero then that seems to have pervasive effects on your later psychosexual and behavioral development. The increased rate of homosexuality alone would drive higher probability of trooning out, but it's usually accompanied by very sex atypical gender expression as well.
Your genetic males with apparently female genitalia also frequently end up at least acting like men, even though in their case they often actually have lower than (male) average androgen exposure* in utero (hence their condition). David Reimer is effectively an extreme example of this since he had typical levels of both pre and post-natal androgen exposure . The African DSD athletes represent well documented and very public examples of this. They are - so far as I can tell - all gynephilic and all behave like men for all purposes except athletics.
