I'm only jesting a little when I say it is hands down one of the better mods out there for HoI4.

It and Old World Blues are the only one I play, as they both lack a narrative to get in the way of me having fun.

It's in a odd space where it succeeds in spite of its branding but genuine merit as an overhaul that doesn't focus on a wider narrative and stays true to the sandbox roots of HOI. Its writing is average for a mod (horrible) but it doesn't have that much outside of a singular more narrative faction (Barrad) that's honestly terrible to play despite its interesting concept because of said writing. The quality of the art is all over the place since it suffers from them having to create art as opposed to just getting pictures of actual people. But also because of the mods age and the lead artist disappearing for a year for mandatory Russian conscription. But where it truly shines is its balance of quantity to quality in regards to content. Almost every faction no matter how small or seemingly pointless conquest fodder have fully fleshed out and extensive focus trees with a wide variety of paths. It's an unusually high effort mod for what should be a complete joke.

Yeah that one has genuine effort in it to be honest with you and it lets you have fun unlike the ones I listed

Modern Kaiserreich that with every passing update seems to surgically remove more and more of the fun and interesting paths in the name of realism

Which I don't get because Kaiserreich never seemed very realistic to begin with even if it was pretty Harry Turtledove "fun" alt-history.

Anyway HoI4 kaissereich is weird because it essentially entirely missed the point of the first iteration of the mod.
A fun sandbox to live a wacky alternate history where you decide your path and everything can kind of work.

For example A socialist Italy hellbent on the second risorgimento, but not interested in the second weltkrieg I can do that.
Same for a lot of the countries, any strategy is viable.
And there is a lot of focus on the industry, sure you can let the A. I. do most stuff, but the best deals are megotiated by the player.
And the technology tree is interesting too.
It's a shame how they just ignored all they had done right in darkest hour to turn back into a glorified microsoft paint with politicak spergs.

Unbelievably boring. Like Germany has no way to declare war on the UK or US. And if the AI senses Germany is too powerful they'll avoid war as well. I played for four hours and the only wars I fought were with the rebellions to the east and for some crazy reason the Italians declared war on me

The HOI4KR team, IIRC, is almost completely different from the DHKR one. In any case, at least Kaiserredux exists if you want to go back to wacky sandbox Kaiserreich.

Apparently it was originally dominated by tankies posting about how they intended to use TNO to enact their revenge fantasies, but the mods actually did clean that up. The R/TNO posters are actually a lot like JoJo Fags. But they reference Himmler's gamer paradise and the dysfunctional Holy Russian Empire. It's mostly 14 year olds shitting out typical Reddit memes but with war criminals. Most of their unique memes revolve around portraying socially inept people making references to the cruel aspects of TNO in socially unacceptable contexts. There are some leftwing moral grandstanders of all ages but they usually only come out of the woodwork to make shitty public service announcements of not talking about TNO in socially unacceptable situations. Though the mods will occasionally pin a post telling people not to be autists by A: Posting about TNO and shitting up the comment sections of songs used in the mod Broducing merchandise of war criminals who appear in the mod. C: Editing Wikipedia trivia sections of political figures who appear in TNO to mention that they do. Dreating subreddits dedicated to the production of erotic fanfiction of political figures who appear in TNO. Keep an eye on their subreddit and I bet we'll have a new one to add to this list eventually.

Even the actual Facists- the IJS, Nazi Party, Falangista, and of course the Fascist Party- tried to explain away the contradictions or at least hide them far away from the public eye. If you explicitly say "You are expected to follow these rules, but they don't apply to us because we don't want to follow them", people will rightly detect the shackle being slid around their throat and despise you, and you will likely end up smoking a cigarette against a wall if you are lucky.

I actually don't dislike fascist philosophy, it aligns perfectly with the italian spirit in theory.
The applications of course has been abysmal in its later years.
My point wasn't about the fascist philosphy and I am nowhere near prepared to discuss it.
I was just stating that to parody an ideology you must know it in a thorough manner, otherwise your attempt at satire comes out as shit and nobody is spurred to think critically about what you said.
Clearly a lot of people who make this kind of moss only know history through memes, games and youtube and it shows.
