Another layer falling between the cracks here that you may not pick up on is that Apollo Legend and EZScape were good friends - quite good friends, for years up until EZScape did that video.

In his suicide note, when Apollo writes "The speedrun community are such hypocrites... They tell me they agree with me privately and then publicly betray me" he's 100% talking about EZScape.

Apollo basically told me that EZScape abruptly ended their friendship by ghosting him and making this 45-minute exposure

when merely a week prior EZScape was acting as a shoulder of confidence for Apollo and assuring him he was "on his side."

Not only can you see their friendship in the old trailers for Oceanside, but when Apollo was a bigger channel than EZScape, he was always plugging him.

I know I'm biased, but whereas I think Viper is largely a piece of shit in that he's your typical narcissistic streamer who is very happy to have built his platform canceling Apollo and is even happier now to have been "victimized" by him from the grave, I sincerely believe EZScape hurt Apollo in a way only a long-standing friend can.

You're right - my dates were wrong. My last communication with him was via Discord PM's in early August, btw, and I don't know anyone that talked to him after that.

I think Ezscape knew Viper throwing Apollo under the bus would become popular and also knew that Apollo had stopped making videos so it was easy to get friendly with an up and coming speedrunner and also make "Speedrunner drama videos" because they get lots of views. Which is funny since he accused Apollo in the video of wanting to be "Speedrunner Keemstar" when he makes a drama video.

This all reminds me of how most of the speedrunners threw RWhiteGoose under the bus for making jew jokes on Discord when it became popular to do so. And only Apollo stood by his friend. Ezscape wasn't Apollo's friend he used him to get ahead and dropped him when it became convenient to do so.

Rackets is solid lawyer whose heart is in the right place, but I do think he overhypes lawsuits that are extremely hard to win.

Vic's case was extremely hard to prove since Sexual Harassment really is tantamount to hearsay. Same for the Richard Meyer one because how could you determine that it was really Waid's sperging that resulted in his comic getting delayed?

When it comes to Apollo Nick was definitely right that Apollo could have won it. Billy's lawsuits are total horseshit. But unless you got legal representation willing to fight hard it's going to cost a lot of money to defend yourself.

If I remember correctly Dick Masterson claimed Maddox cost him around six figures over that insanely insipid lawsuit.

This is where I get annoyed at his so called circle of youtube friends. One of the tell-tale signs that someone is depressed is that they stop communicating with their friends. It is recommended to reach out to anyone if you believe they are withdrawing themselves from socialising, IRL or online. Even just to say "Hey, how are you?"

I agree with this. Karl Jobst is fighting Billy's lawsuit and reportedly he has a much better leg to stand on because all he did is report on publicly available information about a public figure. Meanwhile Apollo went to an event with him and recorded him without his consent. So he doesn't look good either way hence the settlement. Had he not flown out to meet with him irl I don't see it escalating to the point it did.

This wasn't exactly uncommon and, according to them, he was in the hospital quite a bit so they just chalked it up to that. He'd always come back to talk to them, apologizing for not saying something sooner, so they didn't worry.
