I think it's ego after having checked some of his other stuff, plus he's almost certainly cleverly editing and manipulating his popular "Hunt" videos or whatever where friends try to kill him while he speedruns so that it's more entertaining. Which is perfectly fine, but once you're outed, the jig is up and he only made it worse when he defended himself so publicly.

This is mostly unrelated, I'm just a mega fag who actually watches actual Minecraft speedruns in his free time, and I'm not talking the edited videos of the completed runs. I'm the degenerate sitting in the 13 hour long streams watching reset after reset.

Anyway I took a look at the document the speedrun mods put out when they first released it and there is a fairly large flaw in it that people who don't give a fuck about speedruns seem to have glossed over. Their sample size wasn't an even sample of his runs, they selected his 5 best runs from a period of about 2 weeks. When you stream Minecraft speedruns its not uncommon to have hundreds of runs in a single night all completed to various levels. I think it goes without saying if you grab 5 out of hundreds its not hard to find anomaly's

Now I dont watch dreams runs so I don't really have a dog in this fight, I just don't wanna see bullshit math/statistics being used as the next weapon of cancel culture

iirc Dream has streamed 11 runs of Minecraft 1.16. The first 6 apparently had normal luck, and then the next 5 had ridiculously good luck.

He clarified in the Darkviper interview that he never deleted his mods folder and just does what any sensible person does who plays various versions of Minecraft, he makes different folders then he puts their contents in the mods folder as needed.
His way of describing this initially was so confusing (probably on purpose) that the Minecraft speedrun mods interpreted it as if he deleted the contents and therefore couldn't submit them.

It turns out there's no reason he couldn't have submitted it, he just thought it was too confusing for them if he did so he didn't because it does have mods for various things he does in there...
Which is way better somehow!
