I thought about this for a second. I was offered the ticket of political punditry when I worked for the Federalist regularly but I get so bored with normie politics talking points and saying meaningless R = Good D = Bad slogans.
I just really love comics and golden/silver age science fiction pulps even if only 5 other people care about it.

a Few of these comic channels are shifting over to politics and it’s an obvious grift. But if it nets them more subscribers they will just keep talking about it. Which is sad because it feels like they are abandoning their core audience in favor of people who could care less about comics.

Doubt that will happen. Doug has natural charisma and a personable way of speaking, not to mention everyone knows Earthworm Jim. Even if the games came out 25 years ago, people remember them fondly and that carries weight. Smiller on his own comes across kind of smug and disinterested, and his voice sounds dismissive and whiny at times. Also he's not really known for a famous property anyone cares about, he's a random generic superhero comic book artist.
