I gotta disagree with you here and it's your second sentence that should make it obvious why.

"He seems to be consolidating said power" has got me spamming X to doubt. This guy wants to be an "influencer." He's got ambitions and none of those really bode well for the overall core Vtuber fandom. Just the external onion layers of coomers, normalfags, and the tourists and posers who are here due to "Fear of Missing Out."


He plans to build an internet-based career and wants to be some sort of important "behind the scenes" kind of guy. It's about clout, connections, and being powerful/important. Big fish in small pond shit. His overall aim is to be some sort of gatekeeper so people have to gladhand him and act like he's great. Basically, see what I said about him earlier in the thread.

His long game plan, to me, seems to mimic those of anitubers like Digibro and Gigguk. But instead of grinding hours and hours of content, he decided to use the strategy of networking instead. His interviews is basically just used to show as evidences of his reach and networking for people wo didn't know about him, especially sponsors, brand, and corpo related to anime and stuff

Precisely why I found the suggested notion of "stopping" them to be dumb. No one bothers to "stop" them because they can't be stopped. Any open detractors will either get shouted down or ignored. You have to let the trend run its course until something inevitably causes the schism, because such is the way of the lolcow.

Seeing all this drama recently with tons of big YouTubers makes me all the more glad I've started to watch more Vtuber content.

At least our drama is due to multiyear territorial disputes between nation states and government brainwashing of citizens rather than some video game guy sexting a minor or a fake minecraft speedrun.

I would have to disagree on the answer to "why all the horny posting?" being something as a clear business decision to maximize profit by appealing to the lowest common denominator. I think that gives an underserved Machiavellian sheen to the drive of most of these western VTbers.

I think it is more likely two things.

One, for westerners, many got introduced to the scene through Projekt Melody, love it or hate it. Mainstream(ish) news covered her in the west before it brought up predecessors like Kizuna AI. If your inspiration is a literal porn star then of course you are going to attract a glut of horny people to the scene. I would be shocked if most of the 2020 Western VTubers don't also have a secret only fans and worked in sex before making the switch.

The other is less salacious and more or less that everyone is horny in an above average way thanks to the rona keeping everyone stuck inside. I haven't done the research but I wonder if you looked even at HL before corona and after if there would be an increase in the "my tail is actually a buttplug lol" and Marine lesbo shenanigans after 2020, once these girls could no longer log out of their idol account and immediately find some dick and/or gash on Tinder. Or whatever the hell Japan uses for Tinder.

You know, I'm just a casual Vtuber watcher and I was initially interested in Vshojo, but good God. Their personalities are literally nothing but "lol I'm horny", Zentraya having a breakdown every other week, and Silver being a literal college bitch. I'm not an idol fag who needs his vtubers to be "seiso", but I'm not going to stick around for someone's whoose go-to punchline is "I'm a girl who likes piss and poop lol"
