For instance, I wouldn’t call myself a Trump supporter, more of a “jeez the media sure hates this guy a lot” type person. Everywhere I go I see people wearing masks on the sidewalks, where fresh air circulates around and there’d be no chance of transmission. They wear the masks outdoors for no other reason than to demonstrate to others that they believe science or to announce to the world “I’m no covidiot Trumpet”. People alone in cars, or on bicycles, or jogging, wearings masks. People touching the masks then immediately after touching doorknobs. People rubbing their hands on their pants (as if this does anything) to cleanse their hands of the ronies before touching things or shaking hands.

I celebrated with the Biden supporters on the street when Biden won because I saw it as an opportunity to partake in degeneracy and debauchery. The whimsical nature of it all made me realize that they’re all giant hypocrites; I do not see this thing as a threat, but for a person to see it as a threat, and to promulgate doomerism and wear the mask badge proudly, then to go out and party during a pandemic is to me is as hypocritical as it gets. A week before the Biden-win, the same faggots would have been shaming covid deniers for mask compliance were out in the street dancing unmasked, banging pots and pans, drinking to excess in close proximity with others ...

Not to mention the hypocrisy of the BLM protests, which I saw firsthand from the sidewalks of Manhattan where most were unmasked, only for someone to literally tell me soon afterwards how wonderful the BLM protests were and that those “idiot covid deniers” were going to spread the ronies for the coming Memorial Day cookouts.

I hope that there are others like me who only go along with the charade and pretend for the sake of avoiding alienation from the hardline doomers but, living in NYC, I fear that I’m vastly outnumbered. I’ve heard first hand people uttering support for Papa Cuomo. The fuck world are they living in?

The problem is some of them passed because of other disease but tested positive for Covid. So an 85 year old patient in the UK has a life threatening stroke. Goes to the hospital for treatment but dies sometime later. During their stay they contract Covid and the hospital lists that as a factor in the patient's death.

Especially now when the current strain is far less deadly. The strain earlier was concerning.

The chances of an under 70 year old surviving Covid are 99.95%

For children and young adults the chances of surviving Covid are 100%. The seasonal flu and the common cold are far more dangerous to children than Covid-19.

Never mind the gross miscounting of Covid deaths the WHO estimates that for every positive PCR test in places like the UK there are at least 5 cases that go undetected. Correlating the reported mortality rate with the positive test results and coming up with a percentage is grossly misleading.

If the coof was really ZOMG! we'd be seeing mass death events in Sub Saharan Africa, most of which has no public health system.

Yes they have far fewer old people and way, way less fatties but they also have a huge number of the malnourished and HIV is prevalent in parts, as well as Malaria, TB, Parasitical infections and God knows what else.

I'm a bit further north but I see the same shit. I've been convinced the reaction to this was a stunt since maybe May, whenever they passed the mail-in voting stuff. I remember keeping up on Cuomo's twitter and the day after he announced it passed he then announced that we would begin planning how to reopen. The BLM stuff would have convinced me had I not seen that first.

I just wear the mask indoors to get my shopping done without confrontation. My biggest concern is at work, where we recently got a memo stating that a number of employees were seen not wearing masks, and now we were required to wear them at all times and would be "brought up on charges" if we were caught not wearing one. They've had a checkpoint at the front gate for months and you have to sign in to access the grounds. They also recently mandated monthly tests for all employees. I'd be surprised if they didn't require vaccinations at a point.

Far as questioning my life goes I couldn't have cared less about this job before but I just bought a house and want to keep it, so while I want to wait on the vaccine personally I still feel like I'm going to have to get it if they do this.

Nah I'm just some mook. It's a college campus but it's owned and operated by county government, so honestly I'm not sure if they could actually do something but I'm assuming they cannot. They more than likely mean we'll be written up. It's extremely vague and sounds scary which is their MO.
