Carson King / CallMeCarson / CallMeCarsonYT - Minecraft YouTuber, trades nudes with underage fans

Probably going to get a bunch of negatives responses to this, but fuck it:

This is the type of shit that makes me think we should make some changes to CP laws. I am in no way saying this should be legal, but a seventeen year old sending naked pictures to a nineteen year old is hardly the worst thing I've heard. Hell, if the two of them had sex, it wouldn't even be a legal issue in a lot of places.

Teenagers taking naked pictures of themselves and classmates is something that has been going on for years. I attended high school right as smart phones with decent cameras were becoming the norm, and I remember multiple instances of either being shown pictures of a classmate's tits, or hearing from teachers about a student who had those types of pictures spread and how that was unnacceptable behavior. If you were to go to every high school in America and check the files of every student's phone, I guarantee every school would have at least a handful of students with naked pictures.

I am in no way condoning Carson's actions, but there is no reason why a nineteen year old getting naked pictures of a seventeen year old should be treated the same as a forty year old having pictures of a fourteen year old. Context and age gap should be taken into consideration when deciding how this should be handled.

We're living in a time where some people think you can groom a 30yo woman. We've infantilized young people, especially women, to the point this behavior's either seen as horrifying, or enough people believe that's a common belief that they'll pretend they believe it.

I think there can be nuance to it depending on the context of the 'dynamic.' If he ever said anything like "I'll give you a spot in my videos if you do XYZ" or "I thought you were cool, you're really not down to do XYZ?" or similar, that would seem like seeking leverage over someone.

As it stands, it looks like there are a lot of unknown factors that muddy the water: How seriously did she take the relationship, and how significant was his Minecraft shit in her own personal world? Did he see himself as being in an authority position of some sort (in order to have or abuse 'power'), or did he see himself as just a content creator fucking around for fun because he was 19?

I just don't think we have enough info here. This stuff seems to be a recurring issue across countless online communities, though, and will probably be studied by sociologists in the future.
So it would be immoral if he played minecraft with her for sex? You make women sound like retards to be honest, based? Even if he did say "i'll put you in a video for sex", the girl would have to have downs to agree to anything like that. I believe that's called a life lession and while it's maybe scummy on his part he's also 19. It's not like women are so incredibly retarded they can't understand power dynamics, which is what most of you seem to think. I shutter to call it "power dynamics" when it's a retarded youtuber who has no actual power over her, he's not a boss or authority figure in her life. You can't have power over someone on discord.

I was wondering if the allegations had some weight behind them when the story first broke since it apparently broke up Lunch Club and didn't start from a Twitlonger for once but wow.

Because of Carson's age I thought it was going to be him sexting 14 year olds but that isn't it. 17 and 19 doesn't make him the horrific predator groomer he's being painted as but exchanging nudes with underage fans at all is a dumb decision. Even if you disagree with fucking around with fans automatically being unethical because power dynamics, don't do it out of self preservation because at this point the internet mob sees it as grooming.

Remember, this is the same garbage that decided you can be prosecuted if you were groomed (at an actual fucking young age/big age gap) into taking nudes and you, the victim, get in trouble for cp. Who fucking wrote these fucking catch-all laws? All it does is make people less likely to report. Oh, but it makes the cops' and the courts' jobs easier so who gives a fuck?

This shouldnt be a big deal people are just drama hungry.

Carson always looked like an autist creep to me, surprised how light this drama is, sure if you think about it too hard or can be creepy but it's really nothing. One look and you feel the terabyte a cheese pizza hidden in his computer

So if Carson was about to turn 20, how close to 18 was the chick?

Asking because of the similarities between this and Pyro allegations (Pyro sexting about fetish shit to 15/16 yr old boy fan at 19/20). While they are different and despite thinking both Pyro and Carson are stupid creeps at this point, it's the little nuances and details that really make or break it imo.

This shit is so overblown. Usually I'd be on board with chastising and laughing at degenerates for being degenerate, but there's a 2 year age gap (still fucking weird), the girl was 17, almost 18. She's old enough to know how to say "no" and tell Carson that she's uncomfortable. There's also that Romeo and Juliet law shit.

There's a point where people need to stop treating "victims" of things like this like precocious children with no thought faculty. At 17, you should have the wherewithal to know how to say "no" or not engage in the first place, especially to some loser who makes meme videos of himself crying while gaming. Carson isn't Harvey Weinstein, he doesn't have control of this girl's career or social standing, He isn't an omnipowerful business mogul with friends in high places, he's a fucking nerd on Youtube with a large subscriber number who makes gamer videos.

Carson's a creepy virgin sex weirdo, but not a sex offender. Talking to minors online is always a bad look, especially when your dumb ass is sending shit like this. Sexting in general is fucking stupid. ESPECIALLY as an internet personality. Carson has no one to blame but himself, but either way, the Twitter outrage mob has its dinner, so it's going to feast on clout until the next personality fucks up or until they forget about this current instance.

Bottom line is, this isn't grooming. If this chick can be "groomed" or mentally manipulated by a nerd like Carson who's only two years older than her, send her ass back to preschool and make her watch those "Stranger Danger" PSAs they showed kids back in the day.

This shit reminds me of that one woman who tried to #metoo Angry Joe but failed spectacularly at it. Same thing with Mike Z and that shotacon camwhore who actually successfully managed to murder his career.

At what point does a girl become a woman and understand basic human interaction and the words "NO" or "STOP"? Is it before or after they try and kamikaze a famous internet personality's career for clout, attention, sympathy and a spot in internet history? Is #metoo just an advanced version of that DDLG shit where every woman plays the little girl with every famous guy she talks to?
