We're living in a time where some people think you can groom a 30yo woman. We've infantilized young people, especially women, to the point this behavior's either seen as horrifying, or enough people believe that's a common belief that they'll pretend they believe it.
It's not even that. Highschool or not, 17 and 19 are reasonably within the same age/peer group. So reasonable that many western countries have laws in place that specifically address the question of small age gaps in age of consent issues.

Anyway, as much as I have enjoyed Carson's content, I'm honestly not surprised by any of this. Dude has never been very mentally well. I remember when the Katerino fiasco happened he went on a whole spiel about being on antidepressants and generally not in the best state.
The more interesting thing to me however is on The Official Podcast #120, when he said that he not only dropped out of school, but "can't stand education overall", as well as having nightmares about going to college and actually contributing to society.
No matter if the allegations are true or not, this situation was an inevitability, and Carson only has himself to blame for giving these dipshits ammo.
