Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Are there good French western animations that anyone here can recommend?

Time Masters. Underrated French animated classic. The ending is one of the best I've seen of any film, ever.

Aside from that, there's Wakfu and it's spinoff, Dofus. There's also Ōban Star-Racers, a French-Japanese series that's also pretty damn underrated.

The pandemic was going on long before the reboot was announced, mind you. The industry's long adapted to working from home, so I don't know how the heck that would be the case. He never announced that he was ever going to be in it... they don't tell you a production's been canceled unless you're involved.

This isn't actually confirmation that the reboot's still happening, and anyone who says it is is spreading bullshit.

EDIT: If you have HBO Max, they just added Courage the Cowardly Dog, Billy and Mandy, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Kids Next Door and Batman: TAS.
If we’re being honest here, given the amount of hate this project is getting I’m just taking anything said about this production with a grain of salt. Yes, that includes what Bob Camp has said about the project too.

They put it out on DVD, it was on Netflix back when they had it... it's inexplicable.

Dexter's Lab doesn't have the banned Dial M for Monkey episode, either, but that's kind of the way things have always been. If Cow and Chicken comes on I expect to see "Orthodontic Police" instead of "Buffalo Gals."
In defense of the Cow and Chicken episode, Buffalo Gals sucked anyway, so no big loss

The Triplets of Bellville, maybe?

Funny I came in here wanting to ask the same thing. I've seen modern French animation being mentioned a lot recently, but I have no clue where to start. I know about the old classics like Maîtres du Temps, but nothing about newer stuff.

Bruh. How could I forget Persepolis? Legit one of the best animated films ever made.

If you like French animation, I'd highly recommend Ulysses 31.

It's like what you'd get if Moebius ever made a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

That was fucking great, loved every single moment. It shouldn't surprise me that with Moebius at the helm of the designs the movie has incredible alien landscapes and the animation is incredible too, those little flying characters were so fun to look at and you weren't lying the ending caught me off guard.

About series to watch I have two: Malo Korrigan that's pretty much about an equivalent of a space trucker going around stopping some evil economic organization. Be warned that finding this series is a little hard, there's a youtube channel that has most of the episodes in french but I know that it has a English dub but very few of them online.

The other is Dragon Hunters, I think the name is pretty descriptive but it has great visuals and this is more popular, specially because they got the Cure to do the intro.

Seriously. This is going beyond just being cautious and going into “It’s not happening! Stop saying it’s happening” while stomping your feet territory.

At this point I’m on the “probably going to happen” fence. If we ever get a trailer, the reactions here are going to be interesting.

Saw this earlier:

Now I want to see an official King of the Hill and Bob's Burgers crossover.
Now this is nice. They even threw in a Gravity Falls cameo.
I always felt that Bob’s Burgers was the closest in spirit to King of the Hill. It’s a nice change of pace from everyone trying to be Family Guy.
Seriously getting assmad about a throwaway joke in the name of an animation layer?
Trump supporters have no sense of humor.
not really, if anything it was a little bizarre in a sad way. you want to privately stick it to the orange man in a place very little people will ever see and you do it by making fun of the most nothingburger thing imaginable? was the joke for yourself or did you mean to send it to the international monkey team on purpose?

might have been an overreaction though, I've gotten weary of lib signalling and the absurdity of still trying to pretend Hillary wasn't the biggest loser the dems could've chosen feels bleak, but at least we got to laugh about it back when we received the segment.
Case in point.

I thought this got canned long ago
It was, PBS is just ceasing reruns. According to this article, the last episode aired a decade ago.
So what's so bad about Cailou? I hear that many parents hate it because not only it doesn't really teach anything but also encorages kids to act like entitled pieces of shit. I got it right?
Hit the nail on the head.

Wasn't there a study comparing kids that watched Spongebob and kids that watched Calliou in terms of their "education value" about a decade ago
