A bunch of armed civilians with no training aren't a significant threat to the largest military force in the world.
This assumes that the state controls the military. The military is people, not robots with controllers run by government officials. It is the reason other countries fall. The military stages a coup to remove officials who may or may not have support of the people.

The military is only good at blowing stuff up. It has not won a seize the territory war in 75 years. That was actually the Russians anyway. Russia was the big scary beast. If the military starts droning people in the US, which the government says it can do, then the state will lose control of the military.

Realistically, can we expect those who actually entered the capital to be prosecuted? Back in June, I was optimistic in thinking that anyone who entered the police station in Minneapolis before burning it down would be fucked with - hard. Of course I was wrong outside of a few exceptions, but we all watched as DA's collectively issued wrist slaps to rioters turned violent or just dropped charges altogether. I figured that they'd be collecting phone data of rioters using something like Stingray devices, watch over CCTV footage/social media posts, and get indictments then move on to arrest those they were confident they had pinned. When Apple stores were being looted, I just assumed that each of the demo phones could easily be tracked and whoever stole them would soon get arrested. From what I understand they were largely ignored and let off the hook.

Watching people live stream, Tweet from, and take selfies in the chambers as well as offices like Pelosi's, I can't help but think how retarded they must be assuming even occupying spaces like these unauthorized is a federal crime. Am I just retarded? What are the chances when all this calms down, cops/feds start knocking on doors of people who were live streaming as they vandalized people like Pelosi's office?

I'm admittedly naïve on this stuff.

I imagine this will also get pasta'd (sorry boss), but yes, I said that your "protest" was retarded and just made everything fucking worse for the rest of us because you self-serious idiots grasping nothing but supposing eminence so insulate yourself in echo chambers about how "important" your fight is that you go off and do retarded shit.

People mocking you might make you realize that giving your political opponents full excuse and opportunity to bring the hammer down on you with absolutely zero popular support in return for absolutely nothing is... retarded! Thanks to brave retards like you imagining yourself a hero because you post some shit on the internet but literally can't even when someone makes fun of you, you do stupid shit like this.

Trump's admin is deserting him. The GOP deserted him. The inlet for populism has dried up. He might get ejected as a fucking lame duck, which I'm not even sure has happened before, because of this. Populism is tarnished for years to come, and the GOP won't be able to oppose anything that the dems put up - neither will you morons, and I don't know how you figured a de-facto one-party state worked in your favor.

But now you go into your little echo chambers where you all pat each other on the back as true patriots and heroes and fixers and doers, you continue to post nonsense you don't fully understand, you continue to hype yourself up about shit like this - it'll be a clarion call to other true patriots! we'll take our country back from the globalists! we'll be unstoppable! there was no, other way to make a coalition to do this! i don't need to know my country's laws or history or constitution, just that i want to protect them! Pence can totally just refuse to read the electoral votes and this is not a power my insulated group just made up at all, so totally realistic!

You need us to mock your sorry ass before you make a mockery of yourself. Good ideas can stand up to a little cajoling.
Which is why Donald Trump is the most thin-skinned man on the damn planet.
The only thing that's happened today is a crowd of protesters walked through a gate opened for them by police, loitered in a federal building they weren't legally permitted to be in (but was nonetheless was built to represent them), and then left as armed teams of SWAT and National Guard arrived to direct them someplace else. Not even an hour after they left those same people watched as political representatives (who also built careers meant to represent them) doubled-down on a bipartisan refusal to investigate ballot fraud... the very same controversial topic that led crowds of protesters to Washington DC in the first place. The protesters were called everything from goons to terrorists by these same people who, mere hours before, cowered beneath their congressional desks behind armed security guards who didn't hesitate to take the opportunity to shoot an unarmed civilian in the head.

Your post is a big, rambling mess of arrant hysterics over a boogeyman who has been amassing in the confines of your own skull for the better part of four years. Worst of all it's inaccurate. The likelihood of what happened today somehow "killing" populism or the values Donald Trump claims to support is virtually zero. There is no better way to vindicate a crowd of angry people than to do everything they fear directly in front of them. You will see worse than what happened today whether or not Donald Trump is around to see or support it. How fitting it accompanies the first week of a brand new decade.

Tfw you realize that the founding fathers gave us our 2nd amendment to protect ourselves but the modern "patriots" would rather just jerk their guns off then actually use them.
The problem is things aren't that bad. Could they be better? Sure.
Are they bad enough to sacrifice yourself and possibly, either directly or indirectly, your child and their future?
No, I don't personally feel that way.

Add on that many in America who are incredibly troubled can migrate. Not all, sure, but more than what was possible historically.

If things get bad enough you would 100% see our armed citizens winning, but that would require a lot.

It's a very simple formula.

If left-wing, you don't get prosecuted because you are useful to certain establishment state actors.

If not left-wing, you do get prosecuted.
