My loved ones are hyped for the vaccine yet with all these numbers surfacing it should be really thought about it was rushed as heck. What are other fellow kiwis doing? I think I am going to stay the fuck away from it personally.

I’d love to get the vaccine as early as possible. If our benevolent, selfless rulers are jumping at the opportunity, I think it’s safe to assume it works.

Not getting it and that's a hill I'm willing to die on (i.e. willing to lose job, move states, etc). The incentives for the companies developing it are all wrong, every single motherfucker in the government is lying to us about this virus at every turn, and I'm not willing to risk any autoimmune issues because I can say from personal experience those are an absolute bitch. Plus I'm at next to no risk from the actual virus.

He is also requiring children to wear masks while playing basketball and hockey. It is state-sanctioned child abuse. 40 legislators signed a letter today asking it be rescinded. I am not hopeful considering he wants masks indoors indefinitely.

Officials are also more willing to play ball in smaller places because it's much harder to exert control over a spread-out population. It's pretty hard to force someone to stay in their home if you can slip out the back door and into a wooded area without anyone seeing you. If they put an unreasonable rule in place people just won't listen.

IMO large corporate entities and to a lesser extent governments are purposely trying to consolidate populations as a way to consolidate power, and the best way to resist that consolidation of power is to simply not live in a densely populated area. Big cities are becoming modern fiefdoms where your average joe is drawn in by higher wages on paper, but the bump in pay is generally more than offset by the cost of housing and he will never own property and thus will live his entire life with the threat of eviction over his head which keeps him under the thumb of his employer.

In Scotland, Police barged into a family's house on the false suspicion they had guests in the home. Family try to push the Police out of their house, which is followed by threats of arrest for breach of the peace, in their own house. Police violently force their way in with no warrant because under new covid guidelines suspicion is all that is required. The children's screams make it hard to watch.

I shouldn't be surprised at how insane Current Year is, yet it is so insane that bugmen are now being conditioned to think the way it was for all of history before 2020 is now "insane". Just had a talk with this guy in Texas, boy was it surreal

I notice at this place I'm staying that almost all the employees take off their stupid little masks when no one's looking. They spend their idle time on their phones, probably searching through whatever social media slop that's being fed to them, and plastered all over the wall behind them are the "we care about you!11" signs. Yeah right, don't insult my intelligence.

I talked to this guy, probably the manager as I was leaving, and was like "Why do you wear a mask?"
Manager: "W-well its a CDC guideline and meant to protect against the coronavirus"
Me: "Well the boat has sailed on the coronavirus, the entire country is filled with people who have compromised immune systems from all the junk food and lack of exercise they're getting. Putting on a mask as someone with a weak ass immune system doesn't help Covid-19 one bit"
Manager: Literally no response, goes on to fellate the CDC's reputation right in front of me
