Most Toxic Online Game Communities - Hate the Players, eventually hate the game.

FIFA and NBA generate special levels of salt, that I in a way, curious if EA and 2K intentionally keep the things in that they bemoan purely to spite them

A lot of people have mentioned GTA:V as a toxic online community.

If you want to play solo online, or even with your friends, do the following:

  • Open Task Manager
  • Click on the Performance Tab
  • On the lower left is: Open Resource Monitor
  • Click that
  • It brings up the Resource Monitor.
  • See GTA:V? Right click.
  • Hit "Suspend Process"
  • Count to seven
  • Right click again, Resume Process (You should have counted to 10 when you hit Resume)
  • Alt-Tab back to the game

When you go back, you'll see that everyone dropped from the server and it's now telling you that you're alone on the server.
Have your friends join you.

Enjoy your faggotry free GTA:V time (except for you, you'll always be a faggot)

When I was a youngin on tumblr, it was Dragon Age & Mass Effect fandom as the single player ree spots thanks to Bioware embracing sjwism early. Not sure what it is with single player games at the moment, but Fire Emblem is probably is it now for its ship wars, waifufags, and the optimized builds people. Theoretically, the sonic fandom is the most pozzed of single player fandoms but its biohazardous in a different way than the thread looks for.

Special multiplayer shoutout to pokemon and it's competitive assholes. They're not the most toxic, just a pain to deal with.

Not one game, but all of the old PC classic. Deus Ex, System Shock 2, MechWarrior 2, Fallout, Thief, you name it. The fanbases will shit on anything made after 2005 or any console exclusive. Old school revivals like Dishonored are condemned as irredeemable piles of shit for the slightest and pettiest reasons. Any criticism of the classics is denied outright, and if you provide proof it's handwaved as part of the experience or not important.
I remember reading a thread on No Mutants Allowed once that showed how really petty they can be.

Now Bethesda Fallout has a shit ton of stuff worth criticizing and NMA do tend to have a point on when they criticize Bethesda's games. But I once saw a thread where they were complaining about Fallout 3 because "there's buildings in the Capital Wasteland that are boarded up from the outside."

Their logic roughly being that Bethesda fucked up because "why would you board up a house if there's enemies inside, just kill them/how do you board up a door without alerting the occupants inside?". Another one being that "why would you board up a house that you were using for shelter/hide your valuables?" Never mind the fact it's been 200 years and plenty of things can happen that can result in boarding up a door and dying, forgetting about it, etc, but Bethesda clearly just designed it just for aesthetic. Despite this, I remember them treating the doors as if it were on par with major issues the game had like writing or character decisions.

They also ignored that in New Vegas there's houses in North Vegas, a very secluded area, that also have boarded up doors so take that for what you will.

World of Tanks and War Thunder are impressively bad

lol wut? Silent Hill 3 is a fan favorite. Heather doesn't take shit from anyone.
Exactly.

Silent Hill 1 is my favourite. The cult plot of 1 and 3 is convoluted and goofy, and 4 is stupid on it's face. Gameplay of 4 is seriously flawed as well. But we're supposed to pretend that Silent Hill was flawless until gaijin stumbled in after SH 4 and ruined everything by being too stupid to "get" Silent Hill. How western fans "get" Silent Hill is never explained.

Then there's PT, which wasn't Silent Hill 2 and wasn't referencing deep SH lore, but was widely liked. I'd argue it's liked because no one knew it was a Silent Hill game until the end. If it originally released as "Silent Hill: PT" then people would have gone through complaining about the lack of pyramid head or Samael.

Maybe nowhere near "most toxic", but I'd like to throw Resident Evil into the ring for everyone's consideration given how aggressively retarded most fans are.

You have the obvious things like the "purist" vs "modern" wars (i.e., "RESIDENT EVIL WAS RUINED BECAUSE OF 4, CAPCOM NEEDS TO GO BACK", funnily enough a lot of those same people will go to bat for RE7 just because it gave them a few good first person spooks and had a few puzzles despite it being a relatively decent game at best and mediocre at worst), then you have a lot of the "newer" fans who hopped on board the train because of RE2 Remake, and these are the ones you'll be hearing a lot of dumb SJW troon stuff from in my experience. I've also noticed there's been a lot of dumb, echo chamber type shit that's gone on because "popular" video creator or streamer said something, so it must be true (usually in the cases people like TheSphereHunter and CarcinogenSDA).

Maybe not overtly bad, but boy is there a lot of spergery over a series that was originally a b-movie style, almost tongue-in-cheek, campy "horror" game.

EDIT: Just now considered this after finishing typing all that out, but phone gamers/gacha gamers can be pretty fucking "toxic" as well. Imagine having a superiority complex over having sunk hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars for a .png of an anime girl. Also imagine getting completely assblasted over the fact that someone else hasn't sunk as many hours grinding out low drop rate resources in a phone game as you have.

Paladins.
Holy shit everyone that's still playing that game takes it way too seriously, you can't go a single match, not a SINGLE match without someone trash talking. It starts as a funny gag but it becomes tiresome after a while.

Funny that you say that. XIV players pride themselves in "not being World of Warcraft" and "not being toxic like World of Warcraft".

At least in WoW I can tell a guy I'm kicking him because he's not doing decent dps/his job; if you join a group, you should pull your weight. In FFXIV I'd probably get warned by a GM for hurting someone's fee fees.
That’s a weird dichotomy I noticed and brought up in either one of the WoW or FF14 threads. I consider FF14 to be a strictly better game at this point, but the raid community for 14 is absolutely awful. WoW might be boring, broken, and autistic as shit, but I could go to to icyveins right now or watch a raid video from fatboss and know exactly how a class or fight works without having to worry about the content being hilariously wrong or having to worry about the deranged mod getting into a slapfight and deleting everything.

Dead by Daylight.
It was pretty bad, I have the screenshots in thread to prove it, but cross-play destroying chat has seriously chilled it out. I actually think with the limited number of times I can actually talk killer-to-survivor or vice versa, relations have overall improved.

Niggerfaggots will headbob/swing at hooked survivors/stutterstep/spamsquat and click flashlights, but I strongly advocate that it's not harassment so much as novel in-game interaction. In a game with limited player communication, it's interesting to see how people have struggled to find ways to do so anyways.

Personally like 4 for it's out there art direction and graphics (love that high quality PS2 look Konami had going for the series). Just wish the second half of the game was not a repeat of the first.

I think most of the toxic fans are probably from Something Awful and Voidburgers crew. Twin Perfect can get haughty but they can be funny at least.

SH4 had such a great concept. For me there's too many gameplay problems including, but not limited to annoying puzzles, the escort quest, the controls, the enemies that can't be killed and hurt you simply by being in the same loading zone as you; and the less said about the story the better. I can see why people like it though. I want to like it, and watching the trailer is enough to make me want to give it another shot. For me personally it's been a series with peaks and valley's in quality.

My objection is that toxic SH fans like to pretend the series was close to perfect until Konami handed it to the baka round eyes for Homecoming and killed the series, but that's simply not the case. They also trash games unjustly. Origins wasn't a complete train wreck imo. It was decent enough as far as I remember. SH fans can complain that it's unrealistic for the main character to carry 18 toasters in his vest, but they have no problem with James or Heather carrying chainsaws, machine guns, shotguns, an half a dozen stone tablets in similar jackets.

Silent Hill is one of those post-cult game series. No one gave a single fuck at the time of release, it was that other resident evil when the survival horror genre was every where. Silent Hill's novelty was only picked up later the same way Earthbound was. It's an internet meme based around a decent, but nothing that special series. The fans are so autistic because it has so much room for fanfic about it and that attracts a special kind of fangirl/boy.

The Dark Souls community dissuaded me from playing for a long time. Turns out it's a lot of fun and not nearly as hard as people claim.
Dark souls killed the Demon's souls community. PC release is when it all changed and the git gud kids appeared. Before that the community enjoyed discovery and would watch streams to see others discover things and find things they had missed in their playthroughs. People were told not to give spoilers and to always play the games blind. To get the most out of them you needed to explore the world for yourself. Posting spoilers in a chat or using guides was hugely frowned up on and would get you banned or mocked viciously. Dark souls hit PC and every souls stream became back seat gaming and casuals using guides to pick broken builds for their first play through. It's never recovered and those same people influenced From to pander to them with Solaire and other elements in later games. Instead of discovering me things you wondered what was the next element they were going to rip off from an older game.

WoT can be "rigged" in the sense that in a lot of cases if you don't have Gold ammo you absolutely will not pen, from any angle. Some tanks can get away with not using Gold but IIRC not many.

Also there are a lot of arty players who are absolute scum of the fucking earth, who will go above and beyond just to ruin your day even if it means losing.
