My country is constantly pushing for everyone to use the COVID tracker app so that the government can know their every move and habit. Fucking sick of seeing the posters everywhere. What kind of mongaloid uses this shit on their phones...

Gotta love this. An American on a forum is all "Just sayin', if we had done what countries like South Korea or Germany had done, we'd be far better now uwu". Meanwhile it feels like half of Germany is near psychosis over this whole situation*. Since the mild lockdown we've had isn't really doing anything, the numbers are still not going down. And people are WRECKED. Like, absolute death-cult-type of mentally wrecked. They're BEGGING for more boots on their necks. Yeah, IMO states should just be prioritizing old people. They seem to be the only people really at risk from COVID fatality.
Meanwhile in NYC I know a girl in her 20s getting vaccinated because she occasionally goes to the hospital for her PhD work. She's literally a student with a 1/100000 chance of death, but yeah, let's prioritize that.
NY is stumbling over itself to make sure that the vaccine rollout is "equitable" (ie, so the poors and the brown people get it at the same time the oppressive whiteys get it). As a result, Cuomo added a $1 million fine for providers who give the vaccine to people who aren't in phase 1. So friends, what obviously happens as a result? Vaccines are spoiling now because the hospitals need to verify everyone they give the vaccine to. Meanwhile in Florida old people are getting vaccinated.
Adding to this stupidity, apparently 1/8th of all New Yawkers work in the healthcare industry, so, those 1/8th of New Yorkers are getting vaccine priority, whereas the old fucks who really need it still need to wait.
And all throughout his bungling Cuomo has this smug look on his face like he's doing a good job. "But at least he talks shit to Mr. Orange!" I went into 2020 with love and compassion for my fellow man, but now I only feel complete misanthropy

We'll see in the next few weeks if the vaccines provide long term T-cell immunity. I have my doubts. Expect to see lots of people who got the shot catch the virus. We'll know the vaccines have done their job if the mortality rates are negligible in this group. Remember a vaccine cannot stop you catching a Coronavirus but they may prevent severe symptoms.
But yes I agree, prioritize the elderly and chronically sick. Otherwise the goal should be to vaccinate as many as possible as quickly as possible to build herd immunity. The New York laws are ridiculous.

They are obeying, not pushing their restrictions away and telling them to fuck off or there will be consequences. Politicians are evil but they arent idiots, they can see an opportunity to grasp power and they are taking it gladly.

Its the people that should actually do something about it instead of going the "someone else will"...well, guess what, honey, YOU are the "someone else" to "someone else"...thus nothing gets done.

They use their credit cards on the machine and there they go, rubbing their hands with the alcahol...I gotta see that patern over and over and over and over again...meanwhile Im the only mf in the building not wearing a mask and actually allowing people to see my smile...and I dont know if they are returning it most of the time...maybe they dont because its not like I can see it, what will be the point?

I think it's both elites and the people - but not all - who make this world the miserable dystopia it is.
