Have to disagree. Maybe this is a difference between the UK and other places but teenagers and even children (rarely) are diagnosed bipolar. The first signs of it usually show in teenage years, similar to schizophrenia.

BPD is usually confused with bipolar however, and that is not diagnosed until after 18 due to confusion with normal teenage development and puberty leading to the issues with identity etc.

They may do so in the UK, but in the US diagnosing someone under 18 with Bipolar is not the way it's done.

Whether he's been diagnosed or not (and its a hard X from me just because it's Lying Lou), he definitely has to have some kind of rapid cycling mood disorder. Whatever it is, its no excuse for his entire existence, as much as he wishes it were. In the words of Marcus Parkes, mental health may not be your fault but it is your responsibility. The way he just threw it in there as a last ditch effort to grift shows you just how seriously he takes it.

While it's discouraged to diagnose kids, it still happens all the time. I wouldn't be shocked if Louis saw some discount psychiatrist who jumped at the chance to slap a label on him and offer mama gags some nice "fix it all" medication

From a social worker perspective, we do not like to diagnose children with such mental disorders like bi polar and manic depression due to a plethora of reasons. The brain of a child doesn't fully develop at the age of 16, not even 18. It is hard to diagnose a disorder of the brain when it is not done growing, and even then the brain doesn't truly and fully develop until 21-23. Once you slap on a label on a child it is hard to get doctors, psychiatrists, anyone in the medical field to not automatically assume and make incorrect choices regarding the child. Things like schizophrenia are normally late adult hood occurrences, so if you diagnose a kid at 13 things can go wrong very quick. Licensed Clinical Social Workers will stay away from diagnosing children with such hefty disorders till they age up a bit.. Rare cases, yes a child will be diagnosed, but it is super rare and can be detrimental if an incorrect diagnosis is made.

He definitely has a big thing for transformation, all his writing involves magical or 'alien tech' where some fat schlub who's usually got either his name or life story getting a sexchange and species change into a big titty furry of some sort.
