General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Do we even have any alternatives if the forum goes down again, like it has been for the last 2 months? There arent many places you can talk this freely about chuubas.

-The chans are plagued with drama whores and trannie jannies
-Reddit can go fuck itself
-Discords are a spergatorium

The Official Channels are right out. The discords and major chans are way too fast and ephemeral and particularly vtuber shitshow vX.0 is truly a shitshow now. It's nice to have a couple pages of posts to catch up on when I step away for a day or two. A private subreddit would come close, although it's nice to have new people drop in when they aren't tards. Maybe something hosted on .win, or a mastadon server.

Literally just a small private discord specifically for the people active here could work. This thread isn't so active that it would become unmanageable too quickly.

I've been lurking the thread for a few months and finally decided to post because the last downtimes got me really scared of losing this small Vtuber community. I really enjoy the discussion and atmosphere here and I hope there's a backup plan in case KF dies.
Also, I've been watching this ENVtuber and she seems OK. Cute model and voice. What do you guys think?

After Sora’s meme review, it has become obvious that all memes related to Yagoo and his “dreams” are tired memes and need to die.

Also played out:

However, in good meme territory, I present Chima. I found these over the weekend. I knew she was a good singer, but I didn’t know she was also a great shitposter.

And, as a big fan of Goosehouse and their weekly music show, I’d be remiss to not post this cover I also found yesterday.
I think they picked the right singers both in terms of sounding like the Goosehouse members, and also looking like the characters in Your Lie in April..
which now that I think about it, may be the last anime I watched.

Aren’t the 3D debuts usually very close to each other? I think they’re spacing them out this time so that they can get Nene’s new design out around the same time. In a perfect world, she’d debut her new design in 3D

I agree with this, my belief is that null might pull the plug soon enough because of this brouhaha
A backup place would be really nice and wise

Hoshikawa's debut was kind of a shitshow because she got swarmed by racist trolls who shit on her for being half Japanese.
 
We're back in business. If the forum goes down again, I can be found on the kiwifarms pleroma @Fcret.

As for backups, a forum would probably be the best option. Discord is pozzed and so is Telegram. An imageboard with anonymity/transient identities would probably be best considering the nature of the topic. I've toyed with the idea of setting one up (not infinity, but probably one of the more constrained futaba clones) but I need to do some research and get a ballpark on how much it would cost to run. If we keep the topic constrained and don't get too many people, it shouldn't cost too much.

In terms of the bigger picture though, I feel like this crackdown has lit a fire under Null's ass to go down swinging so we probably don't need to worry about losing the forum for a while.

I dont know, he's getting old and has said several times that hes getting tired of this shit, so looking for a backup isnt such a bad idea.
Fuck, even a temporary discord server while (if) someone sets a forum or some other small place where we can hang out to talk about chuubas, I just dont wanna go back to the lolcow or chan sites.
