I wouldn't wish to inflict it on Chris' children, but there is that morbidly curious part of me that would like to see how they would respond to having all their comforts striped away from them. If they push the MAGAs and everyone else trying to get by too far, they will not like to see where this ends.

OK, given the confluence of the above information (yeah I was pretty sure I remembered that Chris said contractors were doing it), then this means:

-Either Chris is stupid/misinformed and thinks HE has to apply for the permit, NOT the contractors (and the contractors didn't disabuse him of the notion for whatever reason)

OR

I heard it once said that Left Wing Violence is like a knob being turned up and down. It can be adjusted to any situation whether it be a car bombing or large scale mob violence. Right Wing Violence, however, is like a light switch. One side of the switch is labelled "Do Nothing and Watch" and the other side is labelled "Kill Fucking Everybody". The Right Wing has been on the "Do Nothing and Watch" side of the switch so far because it prefers not to blow up the entire country just because a few manlets are turning over trash cans or some joggers are burning down their only grocery stores. It's not worth it because even with the Cities being looted and pillaged, life is still pretty good for most Right Wingers, at least when compared to life for most peasants throughout human history. Why risk it all when the alternative is still liviable? A lot of Right Wingers were also buying into the notion that Trump was busy building a case against the crooks and traitors in government, and would start rolling a Dragnet on them at some point during his second term. This stayed the blades of many of the more radical Republicans, because they thought that if they acted publicly, it would ruin Trump's chance to "Drain the Swamp."

Now let's say that Trump has no such intention, and plans to just shrug and walk away from government, leaving one of the most powerful institutional systems on Earth, consisting of the US Military, the Alphabet Agencies, the Police in every major city, the Media, the Educational System, the Banking System, Silicon Valley, and most of the major corporations in the hands of a bunch of Democrat Demogogues, who've been slavering to undo everything Trump has ever done. A large and very vocal portion of them have expressed the desire to declare every Red Stater a terrorist and unleash a pogrom upon them that would make Stalin blanch.

Would THAT be perceived as an existential threat by the Right Wing? Might that not force the finger on the Right Wing Violence Switch to wibble a little bit? If the Democrats are fearful or zealous enough to actually engage in large-scale crackdowns against Right Wingers, this could be enough to get some of them (the more "Fourth Generation Warfare" types) to start acting. And there will be no Trump or Q or "Trust the Plan" platitudes holding them back. Even if every Right Winger just sat on their hands and did nothing, it's going to be awful hard for the Democrats to govern a country where half of the population think the government is illegitimate. There's going to be a lot of pushback for the crazy shit the radical left is going to write into law, as they're going to try to turn all of America into another CHAZ autonomous zone. There's also the fact that people have been buying up guns like crazy, and very little chance they they're going to just hand them over, especially with Leftists trying to Defund the Police and all.

Leftists like Bob don't know how Reality works because they prefer to stay in their own little safe space boxes where no one challenges their views. How many times has Bob actually engaged in live debate with a Right Winger? I can't think of one outside of Twitter, where he has the power to insult and block them. Bob's going to be in for a big surprise if he thinks that ANY of his opinions on Right Wing behavior have any merit. Considering Bob has conflated "stupid" with "evil", it's no surprise he thinks "emotional intelligence" equates to "empathy". (Except, Emotional Intelligence is about controlling one's OWN emotions, not feeling for others or understanding the feelings of others). This has led to Bob believing absurdities, like that Only Smart People are Good, there are no Evil Smart People, only Evil Stupid People, and Stupid People can only ever be Evil, never Good, because they're too stupid to be Good.
