Superior genius at work.
Yet again Bob thinks in black and white terms assuming all of his enemies act the same ("THEY ALL WEAR THE SAME HAT"). No they don't. There are tons of people who are quietly Trump supporters but would never wear the hat because they simply don't want to deal with the public scrutiny. I know people who would probably do stuff like put Trump bumper stickers on their car but don't simply because they're afraid some TDS case will see it and key up their car as a response.

This type of thinking is part of why Trump's 2016 win came as such a surprise. Believe it or not, most people who vote don't actually make a big deal about their political opinions 24/7 like the twitter crowd Bob is accustomed to. Nor do they want to get into big arguments with people who think they're a Nazi just because they liked Trump's economic policy or whatever.

And yet here you are, sperging about the 2016 election on a thread about a Boston lolcow.

Archduke Ferdinand took two bullets, but Europe has been gearing for war for a lot longer than that since land disputes and unchecked expansionism by the diferent europeans forces were getting to a critical point, the Archduke was just the excuse these powers were waiting for.
Yeah. When I did WW1 in history class I had it practically beaten into me that the main causes of the war were nothing to do with the Archduke getting shot and that was just an excuse for Austria-Hungary to invade Serbia.
I love how this phobia of nazis ("THAT ONE GUY WITH A SWEATSHIRT AT PROTESTS REEEEE!!!") Is boiling point and must be investigated in haste and how the same people can stare at BLM/ANTIFA riots with CCP or old USSR flags flying and be like "Come on, that's just like, one werido, no biggie." Or have one pedophile in their vlog/review circles and it's like, no big deal.

It's all the same shit, but you got guys like Bob, who NEVER have interacted with black people, let alone normal people and think they are some great sociologist expert on what extremists threaten America and race relations.
”all cops are bastards because they won't denounce racists”
Funnily enough, if you replace ”cops” with ”Muslims” and ”racists” with ”terrorists”, you have a very er... interesting statement in front of you.
Contract workers in the Boston metro area? 99% chance of Republicans. Though I find it more likely he'll walk up on them having a smoke break, hear them talking about stop the steal and have an aneurysm.
I'd pay to see his face when that happens.
The 400+ year thing is the stupid 1619 project where America's founding was *ackshally* when the first slaves were brought from Africa.
Which is both ridiculous and erases the contributions Native Americans made before Jamestown was established.
Are Bob and Chris aware
Probably not.
if they didn't all wear the same hats, Bob would be all for tattooing all MAGA chuds with a red elephant or something like that.
Maybe they can all get a special yellow star and get sent to special camps where they can be concentrated.
I don't think he ever takes a position that doesn't ultimately lead to it benefitting him. He surely only wants to defund ICE to try and impress some hot Latin box.
Indeed. Almost all of Bob's positions make sense if you understand them as being ways to get women he thinks are hot to notice him. Even the way he treats conservative women makes sense if you've ever seen women fight or gossip.
GAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!

1) he does wear a rainbow wig, so it wouldn't surprise me.
2) does Congresswoman Sherrill have any evidence for that? Because if not, she's just committed libel.
3) dehumanising political opponents is what the Nazis did in the Holocaust, so I'm unsurprised Bob does it now.
4) many of the people there are objectively white and working class. If I was on the left, I'd be wondering why so much of the demographic that traditionally supported me has gone over to Trump instead of writing them off as obsolete and going back to simping for Anita.
5) should a Roman Catholic baker be forced to make a cake with the words ”Peter and Chris are getting married today” and a pride flag on it? If not, should a gay baker be forced to make a cake with the words ”You shall not lay with men as you do with women; it is an abomination” and a Vatican flag on it?
6) AOC's right. Lies, for instance ”it's necessary to genocide the mayo ghouls” or ”moon wheat is realistic” aren't differences of opinion. Have a great day!
7) it's funny to see that Bob only cares about working-class people's jobs when they work in ways that pleases him.
What if Movieblob learns that there are more left-leaning anti-vaxers? Like vaccines are made in laboratories and have chemicals and shit. What is this insistence that the people working in the local cinema are working class (and the associated speging about steel workers and masculinity because of course they got that in there)?

I don't know what it's like in America but over here everyone who isn't the manager is working at a cinema part time between classes to make beer money while things like housing and food are covered by student loans, grants, rich parents etc. That isn't working class, not just because it doesn't "feel" like they aren't but by actual academic socio-economic definitions.

In the U. S. of A., flipping burgers, manning the popcorn machine, and similarly low-paying jobs are done by high-schoolers and college freshman as a way to make a few extra bucks. Later on in college, you're usually working two of those jobs at a time, plus an internship, on top of your studies, to pay your way through college (and yes, this is on top of loans and scholarships. There are many reasons why you need to kill yourself to afford going to a university stateside, but one of the big ones is that the university itself racks up obscene costs: fancy books, the newest electronic gadgets, tenure and wages for professors, and the massive campus itself are all expensive. The cost needs to be passed on to the customer, or the university suffers a loss.) However, the idea is that the part-time jobs are exactly that: part-time. The internship is how you move on in life: you leverage that into a better-paying job. Alternatively, it's who you know: you know a guy who knows a guy whose rich daddy just happens to be looking to fill a low-level spot in his company. The point of it all is to buy yourself time to secure a path to the future, either through internships or connections.

(It's worth noting that Bob went to college and utterly failed at all of this. No connections, no path to a better life, and now he's raving like a lunatic on Twitter while slowly growing fatter and fatter. Don't be like Bob, kids!)

The people (Bob and his ilk) insisting burger-flipping, popcorn vending, and cashiering are working class jobs don't have the ambition, experience, or connections to move onwards and upwards to better-paying, more demanding jobs. It's not that they're incapable; they want to stay in their part-time job forever because it's easy, but they want to be payed like upper management of a Fortune 500 company.

Now, it's also worth noting that in the United States, blue-collar work (steel work, dock work, truck driving, garbage collection, etc.) actually pay quite well, because few people in America want to do it: blue-collar work is physically demanding, requires long hours (many of them awkward, such as at night or early in the morning), requires work in uncomfortable conditions (such as in the cold winter), and generally sends you home covered in dirt and grime. Now, there is nothing inherently dishonorable about such work, and it can be quite lucrative; with careful financial planning, you could end a forty year blue-collar career a literal millionaire. But Bob, and others like him, consider themselves "thinkers" and "planners" and generally above the filthy blue-collar workers (many of whom have never graduated high school). So they mock the workers who keep their electricity running, their water flowing, and their nuggies in McDonald's. And this is on top of the fact that Twitter warriors are physically unimpressive, and wouldn't last long in these jobs- or mocking these workers in person, for that matter.

In short: Bob is fat, lazy, and desperately mocking the achievements of better men to make himself feel better about his own failed life.

I like that Bob thinks movie theaters are this foundation of service industry and economy that the US couldn't live without.
There are about 40k movie theaters in the US, with an average of 30 employees. That's 1.2 million employees in total (actually googled numbers suggest more like 132k employees).
There are over 12 million manufacturing jobs in the US. Over 20 million agricultural jobs.
Over 100 million in the service industry.
But movie theaters, man, they're the backbone of the economy.

His followers also want to claim that the movie industry is the service industry, which it isn't. There are more people working in educational services than in the movie industry by nearly double, yet such people don't matter because they don't create Disney capeshit movies
Maybe I would feel sympathetic for movie theaters if they didn’t have shitty ticket prices for the same capeshit movie since 2012.

He wll go with "B-but muh Hollywood industry moves billions every year" and say it's essential because of the amount of money it makes and the amount of people it employs.
I will gladly let all of Hollywood burn and every hobo in L.A. piss on the ashes if that kept a steel refinery or an oil rig in place, because they are more important and they generate more lifetime revenue than some bullshit movies. Plus, due to direct and secondary employment, a steel refinery employs much more people than a whole movie studio.
We know it's not because of economical importance, he's just an entitled asshat that wants to masquerade his own pompous desire as something important.

Not only there, in Europe is the same. Working at McDonalds and the like is something people in their early 20s do when they want to get their first taste of the job enviroment in order to have some money. The only people older than 25 that work there is because they do it as a last resort. There is no other job that will take them and so they go through the grind in hopes of finding something better later. But college students here don't have to go through the nightmare of student loans, since they either get grants if their situation is beyond fucked (having the state pay for everything) or their families can afford to pay the price (depending on your career, price can vary between 600 and 1200 eurodollars on public colleges. Private colleges usually reach the 3000-5000 bracket.)

The only ways to get into a career job are 3 and you already named 2: You start as an intern, learning the trade and getting experience, eventually getting hired or using that experience to score another job. Other is having someone to speak up for you to their employer or a friend that needs to cover some position or is hiring people to expand. I will say that traditionally, your first serious job is obtained this way. You have your older brother, father, uncle, etc... recommend you to a company and they will speak to the boss favorable about you. The third is inheriting your family business. It's not easy and it tends to go south unless you have someone help you properly (in economics, the average small family business only lasts 3 generations).

The thing with Bob and people like him is that burger flipping and the like are the jobs the see the most around them, so they give them value them extremely high. Do you think Bob will bother himself going to a law firm or to the office of an architect in order to build a house or ask a plumber how to fix his pipes? No. All they see around them is people at Wendy's, Starbucks and the like, so they are bound to think that making lattes for snobs is backbreaking work, rather than chopping wood, mining coal, maintaining an electric network or turning tons of iron into high grade steel.

Why do I imagine of Bob was a president of a banana republic like in the Tropico series, he wouldnt bother making farms, plantations, ranches, factories an etc but would just put tons of cafes, movie theaters and arcades only to "Reee" how his treasury is in the red.

I imagine he'd order his political opponents and their supporters to be enslaved to work on plantations, only to be executed in a coup when everyone else in the country gets sick of him. Honestly though Bob in any position of power is terrifying, if he had any level of self control or competence he would be legitimately dangerous.

You wanna make the movie industry better Bob?

How about you make the theaters drop the price for tickets, make the popcorn less greasy, and make the rooms nicer.

How about you also make the studios make original films instead of rehashing franchises for the people at Wall Street if they want to compete with the likes of Netflix and Amazon.

But you won’t.

Honestly the thought did come to mind. It would be interesting to suggest him to play one of the Tropico games in a stream or something like that. But knowing him, he’ll just dismiss it since it does not have a Mario in it.

There are so many games that would give us a good amount of introspection in Bob's thought process beyond the fact that he changes his mind more than the fucking weather and he just wants to consoom.
Tropico, Pharaoh, some grand strategy games and Stronghold are the first that come to mind. Maybe also Frostpunk, but it's far too light.

Unfortunately I reckon Bob would never even manage to finish the tutorials of those games. Personally I'd love to see him play Rimworld, if only to see him have a meltdown when he sees that colonists can be misogynists and that he can't just buy food from the local store.

How about you make the theaters drop the price for tickets
We used to have an independent and a big chain cinema in my town, when the chain opened you would think peace had occurred in the middle east with how much the local media and hipster douched celebrated finally having a "proper cinema". The independent was like £5 a ticket and the chain was about £10 a ticket at the time.

The film studios started making cushy deals with the big chains and so it was more expensive for the family business to show the same film so rather than go bankrupt trying to compete the cashed out and closed the place down. Not long after that the big chain raised their prices, which meant the film studios could ask for more and on it cycles.

Last year (pre rona) the big chain cinema in the town closed due to "significantly increased costs and lowered ticket sales", a ticket by this point was approaching £14. The local media and Boblike vermin ranted for ages about how terrible it was that the town (and surrounding area) now don't have a cinema. It was their own damn fault that is the case though and I don't see anyone else opening one any time soon. I suppose once again the joker was right.

I might have been sympathetic to Bob's points if these were mom and pop businesses but they're mega corporations that could take the hit and could pay pay staff for the time they're closed and still be fine but it wouldn't be good for the bottom line now would it, and Bob is somehow the anti-capitalist here.

The owner of the independent was a family friend so I sometimes got to go watch the latest big releases with their family at midnight on release when the place was closed. It was so much nicer than the big chain place and served much nicer (and cheaper) food. Why people celebrated the big chain coming in and killing a local small business that was actually cheaper and provided a better service I have no idea. So in short fuck these monolithic corporations when they cry about the virus harming their bottom line.
