between urban expansion and rising population density. Even if I still lived where I grew up, the area that was once woods is now little boxes, all the same. Nostalgia hits you hard sometimes.
With urban expansion hitting hard where I grew up, it's insane to me that people still blame most of the environmental damage on climate change and pollution when people are still actively pushing the concrete jungle further out. What regulation has ever been imposed to curb that, other than a few national parks?

Here's the latest bullshit from the county I live in. They can give my vaccination to someone else. I plan to wait a year. Not going to be anyone's guinea pig. Fuck that and fuck them.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE CARMEL PINE CONE

January 13, 2021, 1:18 p.m.

NEWSOM EXPANDS VACCINE ELIGIBILITY

• Eveyone 65 and older will next group to qualify

Faced with lagging vaccination rates despite plenty of availability, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced this afternoon that he is "significantly increasing efforts to get vaccines out," including making "Californians 65+ the next group eligible to receive coronavirus vaccines." He made the announcement on his Twitter page.

It was not immediately clear when the new eligibility rules would take effect, though Newsom obviously meant to signal that it would be very soon. The Los Angeles Times has many more details. (The LA Times, like Newsom, can bite me crank! - JS)

In Monterey County, vaccination distribution has lagged far behind even the state's poor performance, and the infrastructure here seems to be nowhere near ready for mass implementation. As soon as injections are set to be available to everyone 65 and older in this county, we will report it. (Report anything you want, still not getting the shit. - JS)

I've sperged about this in another WuFlu thread but I'll say it here too: my local hospital is inflating numbers, and I don't doubt a ton of others are as well so they can get big daddy government bux. Bosmadden is absolutely right, the majority of deaths are not due to Covid, and hospitals keep listing the primary cause of dead as Covid regardless of anything else.

No one in my city has been diagnosed with the flu. Isn't that interesting? Some people who went back to the hospital after Covid testing to get physicals or general checkups have learned that they were marked as dead due to Covid. One guy was somehow listed as deceased twice. It doesn't matter how unhealthy someone was, if they caught the flu or pneumonia they absolutely died because of Covid. Even people who died in car accidents were marked as WuFlu deaths. Too many lunatics are accepting those numbers as gospel and aren't questioning how or why the flu suddenly vanished.

There are tens of thousands of flu related deaths in the U.S. every year and there is no panic. Tons of idiots just whine about how the vaccine doesn't work, because they don't understand how it works, and brag about how they'll never get a shot again as they cough into their hands and leave a public bathroom without washing up. I remember when H1N1 was blazing through my city; no one cried about how we needed a vaccine, masks, social distancing, herd immunity, anything. There was nothing.

Just to make this more depressing, a lot of deaths in long-term care facilities are due to neglect. Families can't visit, some nurses don't give a damn, the ones that do have turned to heavy duty antidepressants or alcohol to cope... so yeah excuse me if I don't feel sad for some woman who was so grotesquely overweight that she needed a machine to breathe for her at night so she wouldn't crush her lungs with her own fatness.
My favorite story that's related to similar fuckery is how a family member got a letter from the county or whatever stating that his mom had tested positive for covid in June and she needed to be quarantined. The woman in question passed away in February. So he called and questioned it and the staff was absolutely positive they had the right person and it wasn't a mistake. . . Until he told them that his mom passed away months before she supposedly tested positive. That sure did get memoryholed fast.

The only thing tough about the first year were the (mis)measures taken.
Get ready for COVID to mutate in 2022! Sure, this new mutation is approximately 0 times deadlier, but its spreads 30-50% faster so therefore its MEGA-DOOM!!!
Thought you were in the clear? Here comes a new 2023 mutation! Its actually less lethal but spreads up to 45-70% faster, giving it the ability to crash our healfkare sistem!
But wait! There's more! Scientists have discovered a 2024 mutation that is significantly less lethal BUT THE VACCINES HAVE NO EFFECT! Better stay locked down until we make new vaccines!

In Oregon, an organized effort to get businesses to reopen for indoor service starting Jan. 1 has been championed by several mayors, who formed a group to raise legal defense funds in anticipation of a court fight. Similar revolts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California and Washington state have also gained traction, with the rule-breakers saying their industry has been unfairly singled out while other businesses, like big box stores and airlines, continue operating.

The states with the strictest dining rules are led by Democratic governors and the protests have consequently attracted the support of right-wing groups that, in some cases, have stationed armed individuals at business entrances and organized protests on behalf of owners.
If they thought that little uproar at the Capitol was as bad as 9/11, they're going to get a Nagasaki and Hiroshima level event if they keep fucking with people's livelihood.

This might be stating the obvious but I'd bet good money that a new entry was added to the COVID deathrolls within minutes of that call ending. :story:

They'll tire of this social control experiment after a time. The Chicoms no longer bother. It'll be declared over, and the next project will be put in place.

I said the same thing in May. “People won’t stand for this, maybe commie euros but not Americans”.
Boy was I fucking wrong.

They've been doing it for a year now restaurants and events are dead.

People are just fine licking the boot no matter the cost at this point. The government has a free pass through summer because a lot of people think the government will let up. They won’t because people arent dependent enough on the welfare state yet and it will takes years at this point to vaccinate enough to even get close to their ideal numbers. So they dont even need to fake it just slowroll vaccine distribution as a last resort.

I got denied service at an area retailer for the first time today. I went into a hardware shop to buy bolts and the manager soon after asked me to wear a mask. I explained I have a medical exemption under the provincial health order, but the manager claimed a right to deny service for any reason. I told him there are protected grounds like race, religion, or medical conditions that businesses aren't allowed to deny service under. But he simply responded that they have the right to deny service to anyone. We got into a polite but firm back and forth for a bit before I gave up and left.

Then I went to another store and no one there gave a fuck I wasn't wearing a mask. I want to say I've been in that very store since masking orders were rolled out, but I can't recall whether that's true. Whatever, Canadian Tire sucks anyways. I guess company policy is to they're try and drive people to Amazon now...

I've long ago ceased to be surprised at just HOW dumb managers and administrators are, it seems like hiring selects for abject stupidity and there's a real chicken/egg situation too where only "management types" even bother to become managers. Management types are those people who will tell you, no shit, that you should voluntarily watch their globohomocorp's mission statement video... because they watched it and it was very illuminating. Management types are basically good at nothing and their responsibilities frequently consist of retard-level phone calls and paperwork.

Anyways, imagine being so stupid that you TURN AWAY BUSINESS not because you can't fulfill the client's needs, not because you can't legally serve the client, but because the client isn't doing some meme shit and it makes you uncomfortable (mostly because you dunno what to do). Meanwhile, sales are down and the economy's not doing great, but it's OK because you can type up an extra paragraph in the TPS report about how you protected company values, or something.

I think a lot of the big corporates managed to figure this out pretty quick, because rumor has it they told their employees to knock off the mask policing. The smaller guys tend to have fewer tightass policies, but they can still be hit or miss. I was told to put on the mask at a vape shop the other day, instead I walked right out and drove 5 minutes down the street to the Paki vape where they don't wear mask or give a shit. That was my first and last time trying that shop, which doesn't appear to be turning much business either. Hilariously, they had big plastic sheets hung up over the counters too.
