Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

I wonder if Disney took the license away from EA after suddenly finding out how fucking lazily greedy they are.
If I had to guess, it's due to EA having multiple governments breathing down their necks about the lootbox shit and Disney doesn't want to be connected to kiddie casinos.

A ubisoft star wars game is likely going to have the worst features of your average ubisoft open world game.
Shallow combat, repetitive mission structure, activate the tower to reveal areas of interest, lots of weapon drops that are just the same repeating weapons with higher DPS stats.

If anyone knew what they were doing we would get a crime syndicate simulator where you spend your time raiding spaceships and taking down the leadership of rival organisations

Pretty much. If not for governments cracking down on EA, I doubt Disney would've cared if EAfront III allowed kids to stack up gambling debts.
Just a general question, sorry if I'm breaking up a conversation, but are there any Star Wars or Star Wars adjacent channels worth subscribing to on YouTube? I keep bumping into the same giant Disney shills whenever I go searching. If not channels, maybe just videos of interest? I'm interested in the making of/concept of the movies and the old EU lore in specific.
In terms of Behind the Scenes/concept stuff, Generation Tech is usually the most recommended channel I see and he also does a lot of lore videos and generally informative stuff and news, only problem is he sometimes mixes lore and info from both Disney and pre-Disney (although that's a problem for a lot of SW channels with the exception of The Lore Master who actually bothers to keep them in separate videos, so if you want give him a shot too). Generation Tech is also not one to blindly shill as he has criticized elements from TFA, TLJ, Filoni Wars, Aladdin's Rebels, the prequels and the new Squadrons; not full blown bashing, but it shows that unlike others that he's willing to acknowledge their shortcomings and failures. Despite this, I don't really subscribe to him because of the obvious lore mixing and the fact that most of his videos cover what's trending at a certain time.

The Lore Master is just a lore channel, so news and reviews are rare from him. He's pretty straightforward, although sometimes it feels like he's just reading wookieepedo articles (which are dubious most of the time) when its not related to comics or games, but regardless he's one of the few who doesn't mix canons or make up his own headcanon to compromise things. He does occasionally get a bit shilly though. I don't subscribe to him much either because of what just feels like Wookieepedo copypastes, unless its from comics or games. He also does what-if videos iirc.

The only lore channel I subscribe to is Manda-Lore who probably does the most informative and well-researched SW lore videos that are not just taken from wookieepedo which are more than just random pictures while someone talks in the background since he also adds neat little visual and sound effects at times. He also doesn't mix lore and mainly focuses on pre-Disney stuff. Despite his name, he does lore videos about any SW subject, not just Mandalorians. His only problem is that he hardly ever uploads, only making 3 or 5 videos a month at best.

The Scoundrel's Cantina is also a popular choice. He's very friendly, covers a wide range of subjects and he's more open to criticizing Disney than the others, but he tends to mix lore from both a lot and he does some lego videos which really turn me off.

Ryan Kinel used to do lore and news videos, but now he just focuses on news which is pretty disappointing, but regardless I prefer his news coverage to others since he doesn't beat around the bush most of the time, points out that certain rumors like the Lucasfilm feud or Filoni "fighting for SW" or Kennedy sabotaging Favreau are probably bullshit while other news channels believe it and he's the only one I know to criticize Filoni and Filoni Wars.

Even a fucking Jawa simulator would be a more engaging experience at this point... Despite their exclusivity with EA, Disney-Lucasfilm did make a few of their own games via ILMxLAB, although all of them were just mediocre VR games, some of which aren't even that well known, like some shit called Jakku Spy and a Porg simulator for whatever hellish reason. So yeah, they had their own VR shit with plenty of potential for at least some short simulator games, and they just focused on the most crap and dull ideas possible. Only noteworthy title they made was a Vader VR game but that ended up going nowhere storywise, yet was still nominated for an Emmy for some reason. Despite the name, you don't even get to play as Vader in that shit. Just as some Disney OC who is a descendant of "the famous Lady Corvax" who is a literal who that was invented for the game.

EC Henry is a really good channel if you're into background ships in the OT getting interesting 3D models. He also made a design out of Colin Cantwell's original Star Destroyer model, which is cool as hell. Just skip any of his "lore" videos because most are terrible and kinda shilly. His video defending the Holdo maneuver is probably one of the worst ones.

If you want to see the making of the OT, there's tons of documentaries posted wholesale. One of my favorites is this one, which shows how a lot of the models were made. Here's the second Death Star's featurette.

I second Manda-Lore if you want to know about old EU lore, he's very knowledgeable and doesn't make the same mistakes the Wook/those who read articles wholesale for YouTube do.

Have to give them credit, I'm surprised they dropped the EA exclusivity. Partnering with Ubisoft isn't that much better, but the first two Division games were kinda fun at times so there's potential.
The Division did have the issue of making enemies bullet sponges in the place of real difficulty, however.

Which I expect will carry over to their Star Wars game if Massive Entertainment decides to go the looter shooter route again.

Oh boy! I can't wait for the new version of Skyrim on the Xbox Series X/S that will be released after their Indy game! With it featuring a whole new Indiana Jones costume pack!

Pre-order now at only $59.99. Buy his game!

Seriously though, I'm just gonna look forward to the inevitable shitstorm that will come when they announce that the Indy game will be an Xbox exclusive.

Honestly, WCB much like E;R were the only ones shitting on Disney SW before it was the trending thing to do regardless of popularity and were the only ones to actively criticize even TFA and Disney's early decisions, so I'm not surprised that WCB are the only ones not buying into this bullshit narrative or jerking themselves off to the idea of based boy Filoni fighting for the "soul of SW" as so many other fags are doing. I just wish they hadn't gone the way of closet furry Mauler and focused more on pointless 2 hour streams of random topics no one gives a shit about and focused more on shorter informative videos.
Agreed, Jeff Hicks is a great guy and has been consistent from day one and was really the first to speak out about disney wars. WCBS is still my favorite of the bunch.

I like WCB, I think he should have stopped his High Council show after EVS and Jeremy left. The Midnight's Edge guy and MechaGrifter are boring as hell. His WCB show with his friends is way more entertaining.

The cynic in me says it's too much laziness resulting in not enough greed.
In the 10 years of exclusivity, we got a big PR desaster with the Battlefront games, although 2 apparently made a nice comeback, some phone games, all of which were discontinued (except Galaxy of Heroes, which is known for its egregious monetisation schemes), Fallen Order and Squadrons, one of which is a rather niche game. 10 years gave us 2 (two) more or less universally well-received games and several PR desasters. Not enough money for the Mouse, who also wants to protect its "family friendly" image. Several governments accusing EA of introducing literal gambling doesn't really help there.

Got some news:

1: Reposting this here from the High Republic thread.
The guy who wrote the Solo/IX tie-in book that even surpassed Wendig's crap in low quality and is now working on High Republic, talks about the importance of heroes and gender pronouns. I wonder how many genders High Republic will introduce.

2: Much to my shock Filoni is indeed married, and his wife decided to chime in her thoughts about the Mandalorian.

Apparently it depicts the ideal Antifa society, and her past tweets are either her talking about how many characters Filoni's named or based on her or about whatever political topic is trending.

3: I just found out from @Itchy Bacca that Lucasfilm is looking for a new Lore Creative Executive for the Story Group
Meanwhile Hidalgo's Twitter account says "retired".

This happened on December 9th, less than a month after Hidalgo got #cancelled by feminists on Twitter for being a 'bigoted piece of shit'.
Hoisted by his own petard!

So long chubkins! You won't be missed!
The position has already been filled since then, by who I do not know.

4: JW Rinzler will be doing a livestream on the NotMyStarWars' youtube channel to help raise awareness about cancer (of which he is also suffering from) and his situation with Disney.
It'll start sometime tomorrow, so if you have any questions to ask him, like maybe what Kennedy and Iger did with LucasArts content after they canned employees (doubt he knows but its worth a shot) or if he plans to finish his tell-all, now would be a good time.

No, I'm pretty sure she's being sarcastic and trying to claim Mandalore is a conservative political analogue. Somehow.

If you're interested in VR, the Outer Rim mod for Blade and Sorcery is the tits. Disney will never allow you to grab people by the shoulder and run them through with a lightsaber so it's probably the best experience we'll get

Oh lovely, an Antifa society. I was waiting on pins and needles to hear what mrs. Filoni had to say. All of these people are mentally ill.
