I have a very hard time believing that if Al Gore had won, the US wouldn't have had 9/11 and then entered the Middle East theater.Old people are husks of their former selves. Biden can barely contain his flatulence and Trump sounds like he needs a nap. Trump will not be the same man in another 4 years. He could push one of his children to run, but they would not have the same kinetic energy to draw in the MAGA crowd. The Trump children are mostly dull personalities who live in their father's shadow.
Trump might've had a better chance at two terms unimpeded if he ran against Bush in 2000, since Bush wasn't that popular and the election was pretty evenly split among candidates. America could have played out differently, with no Dick Cheney, no Iraq War, and (a big maybe) no 9/11. But then, if Trump had ran at any other time, many of us might not be questioning the democratic process as we are today, as there'd be no Trump to elect post-Obama. Assuming that there'd have even been an Obama in this hypothetical alternate history.
Hell, the Obama Administration over 8 years proved just how much both sides love war. Military industrial complex, specifically.
Now who wouldn't have had any sort of a career in that scenario is Michael Moore.
