I loved his excuse. First he said that people on Fightcade are tryhards. It's true but that just shows that his ego is too fragile and he knows that he's gonna get peaced out by anyone he plays. Then he said that playing on PC allows you to set up macros, which is cheating. Also true, but I've been playing on Fightcade for years and I only run into people who cheat in any way, not just by setting up macros, once a month tops. And those fuckers get banned immediately anyway.
The tryhard excuse is a joke because
he is a tryhard. He gets angry when he loses at all, he gets angry when people pick characters with penne points that he doesn't know how to play, he gets angry when he can't run a lobby because someone like Goji or AJ turn up and mop the floor with his droopy face, he gets angry when someone doesn't play by his patterns, he gets angry that SF/CoD/Smash/Fall Guys/recently said
Mario Kart aren't 'competitively valid'. So he's competing. To win. So he's a tryhard. So he should be on fightcade with like-minded individuals.
But the reality is that Phil wants to be
the only tryhard. He wants everyone else to be casuals that he can crush and go uncontested because they don't care enough to practice and learn the patterns/cheese strats. Like how he seems to enjoy CoD the most when the matchmaking puts him in with the Derich bots who will run down the hallway he keeps camping, throwing themselves at his bullets so he can call in a chopper gunner. They should all just be fodder for his ego.
I always think of the 'chase the tail' game on Fall Guys. Phil reasoned that he should just stand still for 40 seconds, then grab a tail in the last 10. Anything else was dumb and unnecessary effort on the road to winning. Meanwhile, everyone else is
playing the game for fun, and aiming to win while they do that. It's like kids playing 'tag'. Nobody 'wins', the experience is the game. This is doubly true when you're a streamer - you run like an idiot for 40 seconds because that's fun to watch. You don't stand still for 40 and then grab a win at the end. We're no here to watch you tryhard to win in the most direct way possible, we're here to watch a game.
Ignoring Fightcade while playing this busted version every Friday is a testament to Phil's constant and absolute misrepresentation of who he is as a person.
