Why is it that people who claim to "love" their animals always abuse them, like redditors living in tiny, stale smelling apartments with no sunlight having a cat live with them in their pigsty? All dogs deserve to live on a big property/farm with a huge backyard to around in and all housecats deserve a yuge house to roam around in and do cat things.

Going to power level a bit, but I used to work nearby the McMartin Preschool in Manhattan Beach; there's a dry cleaners now on the site of the school and every time I drove by there I'd pick up bad vibes as if the land itself is still cursed from the Satanic Panic.
I cat proofed my backyard fence for my kitty's they need fresh air and a safe place to roam. I'll never understand having pets in a apartment

An apartment can be great for a kitty that's old or has some kind of mental or physical issue.
...guess which type of cats these people never adopt, though. They always want the cute playful kitten, not the sad old one who just wants food and a bathroom nearby and a lap to nap on.

Yeah the local shelter I've helped at couldn't keep kittens however there was a lot of older cats real sweet hearts but after 2 years of age they are harder to adopt out. My black cat pip was 3 when I adopted him and he's a cheeseburger loving cuddle monster.

At some point, people will need to say "fuck this" and "fuck you" to all these restrictions and mandates. Nothing in life will ever be 100% safe and there will always be SOME chance you could infect someone else with something. This is beyond clown world.

I mean, the "occassional renewals" are fine in and of themselves. People get flu shots every year.

The problem is them proclaiming the people screaming that this is just a stronger flu to be literally Hitler.

Speaking of “fuck this and fuck you”, on a scale of 1-10 how likely would I be arrested for being outside without a loiscence if I left the house in the middle of the night and caught a cross country train to Scotland in a hypothetical harebrained caper to my boyfriend’s house?

You have my full and complete support.

I have noticed that the mask zealots are starting to double down even harder as it begins to look like we might get relief soon. I saw a couple articles claiming that one mask isn't good enough, we really should be wearing two (because of muh new strain.) And several businesses I have visited have had signs that lay out specifically that not only must you wear a mask, it has to be a mask-mask and not one of those bandanas, and you have to have it all the way up to the top of your nose. The governor also released a PSA about how it's not good enough to just cover your mouth and the end of your nose where the air comes and goes, you have to cover alllllll the way up to your eyes like the way the liberal ladies like to wear their cloth masks. I got screamed at by some harpy when I was buying a loaf of bread at the bakery the other day, because I had a bandana around my face instead of a goddamn muzzle. "MASK! MASK!" I think these ugly mofos are going to push to make these things permanent because they derive some sick satisfaction from being able to hide their faces and forcing us to hide ours.

Why use upper arm then? Why not thigh or elsewhere?
With the delt you can use the shortest and thinnest needle. Grey 27 gauges work fine in this area.

It's the most convenient, least vascular (less chance of injecting into the bloodstream), and least painful.

I've had delt injections over 100 times. I've also had them in the thigh many more times, and pecs a couple of times (never again, made me feel faint).

I wonder more about why they use green 23 gauges for blood tests. Those are grossly oversized.

It still surprises me that animal shelters exist. As a kid, you either got a cat or dog half dead from the gutter and nursed it back to health or they broke into your house and made themselves at home. "The pound" is where you take animals to have them euthanized cause you were tired of seeing them around. I have a large black cat who is honestly a giant baby and wants to be either carried or ride of your shoulders and has never met a stranger ever but he was so sick and injured from previous owners neglect that the vet didn't think he'd live more than a handful of weeks several years ago (he's nearly 10 now).

Red blood cells are surprisingly large in size and it's better not to have them damaged when taking a sample I believe. I think that they use 16 gauge needles for blood donations for a similar reason.

That's just like advocating for wearing two condoms at once to make sex "safer".

They can suck a fart out of my ass if they expect me to be stupid enough to wear two masks at the same time.

Repeat after me: Not. Anymore. Lethal.

When are they going to catch the clue that overall, for Americans at least, we’ve decided “more transmissible” is acceptable as long as it isn’t deadlier? Or more likely to cause severe illness? Anyone who feels differently is already isolating themselves and performing mask-patrol when they peek outside. The rest of us have done our math and made our decision. That isn’t going to change unless the virus changes in a meaningful way, and we’ve heard and read what you have to say, and we have decided more transmissible alone is not meaningful.

In my state they have no kill shelters unless its unavoidable because of sicknesses or the animal is dangerous. It's worth noting any animal adopted is kept track of though vet records and a microchip. And you have sign a legal contract abiding by rules of ownership. It helps ensure theres no abuse or fraud.

Why is it every time I see a UK cop I get the feeling I am dealing with the teachers pet that has been given hall monitor duties?

Christ, they ignore child grooming gangs to focus on mean words (that aren't even crimes in the UK) on social media or people opposed to the lockdown.
I'm not going to defend the UK police, but a huge part of the reason they ignored the grooming gangs was to main reasons. 1. Lots of labour councillors, often muslim, ordered them to in the name of "community cohesion" and "don't be raycis" and 2. Social services, who were often involved in the lives of these girls told the police and other workers who were concerned the girls were asking for it.

If you have the stomach for it the show Three Girls is pretty damn worth a watch. It's done by the BBC so there's that as a caveat but I know someone who lives in rotherham and knows first hand of a lot of it, who says it was, for its faults like being a BBC show, was very well researched and done.

To get back on topic, they're now talking about everyone in the UK being vaccinated by the end of June. I dont know what to think any more, if I'm honest.
