One fun thing about Nijisanji is that because the company largely leaves them to their own devices, they occasionally organize stuff that Hololive girls never would, such as a lotion sumo contest recently that ended up with the clothes of basically everyone involved being ruined (and one girl just going home without her underwear). Also, male and female nijis stream with each other without a care cause they don't have to uphold the whole idol image thing.

Also, related to this, I learned that lotion sumo is apparently a super popular thing on Japanese game shows, for basically all the reasons you'd expect. Go figure.

Concerning specific Nijis, yeah, if your favorite has almost no one subbing them, it can be kinda rough.

Make up your mind. This is an off-topic thread. While i think it's okay to keep up with drama every now and then, we don't have to do so in the same way a community watch thread would. There's a reason the regulars think that this is the best forum to constructively talk about vtubers. Maybe the facedox OP post could be a decent idea if only to keep newfags away from asking to be spoonfed, but the OP of the thread doesn't come around anymore.

Anyway, i should probably start watching more nijisanji too, especially the ID group. I've always wondered what sort of chaos differentiates them from Hololive. More Nijisanji discussion here would be good

Each idol/vtuber agency has his own unique poison and sometimes they do share some shit along with indies.

So to summarize: they all scuffed regardless if its drama propaganda or the constant simping that turns out to be a doxxing crusade so Pick your poison and enjoy the ride

I really don't get this idea that Niji is some JP only bullshit with no translations.
While Holo clips are abundant there's tons of clips out there for pretty much every Niji, they even have their own official english channel, and NijiID also has some translators of their own. While I get Hololive gets a lot more attention I wouldn't say Niji gets the short end of the stick, either people don't care enough to branch off from Hololive or they're just not interested since they do pander way less to western audiences

Yeah there are Niji clips but Hololive has way more clips and translations than Niji. Combine that with the fact that anime girls sell more. As for the corporate worship I've seen stories about both Ichikara and Cover and honestly, I'm here to enjoy the talents do whatever they do, whether they be Nijisanji or Hololive/Holostars.....although I'd like Yagoo to debut for the memes.

There's definitely a ton more Nijis and a lot don't get attention but to be honest I completely disagree, each liver I've seen is pretty unique on their own and I would say they carved their own niche, that sort of arguement is what I mean with people trying to shit on Ichikara because they don't feel like splitting from Holo

For Nijisanji ID clips, there's a good channel named Ajasapa, he got cool clips in English so y'all can understand it. For example, here's a clip of Hana and his dad playing Doom Eternal.

Speaking as someone who's pretty much solely focused on Hololive, there's also the fact that Nijisanji is just daunting as a concept. The JP branch alone has over 100+ individual personalities, each with their own relationship dynamics and lore. For those compelled to try to learn about everyone under the same group, it's just a lot easier to keep track of Hololive's relatively smaller numbers. It's like trying to convince people to pick up a series that has been going forever like Gintama or One Piece (which, admittedly, is hypocritical of me since I still keep up-to-date with both examples).

I'd really like to get into Nijisanji myself, but I will admit the language barrier and lack of translated clips keep me from getting into it.

I wouldnt call it "bias", its more that niji lacks in exposure because they dont tend to pander to the overseas audience as much, plus no one else here seems yo care about iinchou or the cutest cerberus ever.

People like to call out the horny and meme clips but they're the very thing that skewed the popularity of hololive clips. They're quick and easy to sub, require little to no context and the holo girls constantly playing into it as a mean of fanservice so people turn to look specifically for those moments. Someone literally said marine was tired of the horny thing but keep doing it because people are into it.
On the other hand most of the nijisanji livers acts however they felt like at the moment and most often time lack a clear define archetype / narrative for their character. Some has storyline that more rewarding if you follow it over long period of time (For example, the entire tragic comedy story arc of ex albio minecraft house which involved multiple people over literal months of content). Aside from the most dedicated of subber, rarely anyone have time for that and at that point, you might as well watch the original streams.
