The drama around the Gura family doxx is actually the lack of drama on Gura's part. Gura did a pretty damn good job covering her tracks, but there was juuuuuuuuuuust enough breadcrumbs scattered between her various old accounts they were able to track her down. You're welcome to read the major details on lolcow, but I'll sum up what I saw.

Essentially, Gura ran another Youtube channel early in the 2010's while she was still in middle/high school. Once they traced her activities back to there, there was enough harmless family/friend posting on various social media accounts they were able to nail down her details. And once they got there, they realized that she was as normal/nice as you would hope she was.

The lolcow posters thought she was so clean, there was even some in-fighting there telling people to leave her the fuck alone. Hell, they found the records of her volunteering at animal shelters for fucks sake. The running theory is Senzawa is a product of her getting high/drunk to cope with the death of her mother. So naturally, once they had everything down, the major stalkers/schizos saw to go a step further and harrass the person they presume to be her father/uncle/some older family figure. This was around 1.5 months ago or so.

They had her nickname and last name from Senzawa's details, thanks to that VA work she did on that minor project. It wasn't until they dug up the older accounts that they got her real name and location. It was only a matter of time at that point.



Her own profiles were scrubbed REALLY well. It was completely through 3rd party posts and autistic stalking of the highest order they found her.

Even in the early days where hololive 0th and 1st gen's model were still limited in facial animation, nijisanji live2d were already capable of the more subtle animation such as eyes movement or chest rising in rhythm with their breathing (I totally did not realize this thanks to staring at rion sama tits). You might argue that the quality of the models varies since there's so many of them, but they're no way inferior. Fumino Tamaki for example is a second wave member and still has to date one of the highest quality model ever.

And niji3d is simply much better. Most notably being kagami/debiru/lulu/hoshikawa 3d model. The only fault is that the hand movement might go crazy when out of the motion capture area and sleeve clipping, but then again hololive haven't solved that issue either.

Niji is as big if not bigger than Holo in Japan, they just don't have the that overseas appeal I would suppose

They have a crazy amount of gigs in japan, from tv talk show and radio to sponsorship deal hosting (several) mahjong tournament. And how many western viewers watch that shit? Hell, how many western viewers know the rule of mahjong?

Completely agree with you there. I don't see that as a reason not to like Nijisanji but I agree that they're extremely late to the party in reaching out to western audiences.
Thing is, and take this with a grain of salt since I'm not completely informed on this stuff, Nijisanji really is good competition for Hololive, just not on the western market, Niji is as big if not bigger than Holo in Japan, they just don't have the that overseas appeal I would suppose

Sure Coco is the most superchatted youtuber, but that doesn't mean much when Nijisanji gets all of the corporate sponsorships. High-end computers are affordable for the middle-upper class, Indonesians are not that poor. But, what is scary is that you could accuse someone of defamation by posting some stuff online and with the right lawyer you could send them into jail for like years.

Here's what I could find about Reine. I joined a smaller Discord server and there's some Indonesians digging Reine's past. They found out that she is extremely toxic, constantly swearing while playing games and etc. This means that what @Rezza said regarding her connections to toxic Indonesian elitist weebs is true. Below is a picture of her. Sadly, I couldn't find more stuff about her because the people in the server are getting scared and they nuked the channel. I wonder which conglomerate is her parents.

The trick to Nijisanji is that you have to follow the main channel, which is where the bigger events are held (Their Mario Kart cup was there), from there you can check individual channels, which requires a bit more effort than picking your favourite holo idol but, at least you don't have to deal with half the content being gone due to copyright strikes before you decide.

I think Amamya, Fuyuki and Rena are good for starting out if you are coming from Hololive, they play roughly the same games as holos with a bit more variety due to better licensing deals, Amamya does some Duolingo streams from time to time and her English vocabulary is actually pretty impressive, Fuyuki does a lot of "If I die X times it ends"-type Sekiro streams and Rena is good at scheduling her streams ahead of time. I want to recommend Rion as well but I'm not a big fan of Genshin Impact, highly recommend her archive though.

Well no I'm pretty sure Hololive fits that image more, Niji is only bigger on Japan, but none of their talents even have higher than 1 million subscribers, even the big bois like Tsukino Mito, Honma Himawari or Kanae.
