You know, looking back at some of you talking about niji's antics made me realize why I never really like them. Compared to the more restrained Holo folks, Niji has much more freedom on what they can do. And their wild antics and behaviour somehow, subconsciously perhaps, reminds me with traditional streamers. I watched Vchuuba to escape from the very clique type shits and stuff from traditional streamer. Because of that, Niji felt more like the idiotic indie EnVtubers type for me. I think that's what made Niji never clicked with me

I feel like people overestimate how the lack of restrictions really affects Niji, at the end of the day these are still japanese people under a company, nothing will get close to the mess that are indie envtubers

Completely unrelated to the 2 big bois I recommend HoneyStrap to anyone, I don't think they have many translated clips at all but every one of them are really damn talented

Not to take anything away from Gura but I'm sure a lot of us who have been around for six months or longer don't even have her on our radar when it comes to being the 'face' of the company/group. Guarantee precisely 0% of JP fans do either.

The face is what people see first, even if the heart keeps them alive and the brain is what matters. I'll keep my metaphor, I think. If it weren't obvious, I follow Haachama most closely, but numbers don't lie, 2 million is 2 million.

I really don't get this idea that Niji is some JP only bullshit with no translations.
While Holo clips are abundant there's tons of clips out there for pretty much every Niji, they even have their own official english channel, and NijiID also has some translators of their own. While I get Hololive gets a lot more attention I wouldn't say Niji gets the short end of the stick, either people don't care enough to branch off from Hololive or they're just not interested since they do pander way less to western audiences

Which is fair enough, do what you want, the problem is when they start justifying it by shitting on Ichikara for stuff Cover also does

In the case of Mito, I would say a lot of her humour just doesn't translate that well to western audiences

Edit: also since to speak and not show anything is a sin, here's one of my favorite Niji "clips", it's decently new

Maybe another reason people think Niji barely has translations is because their translators really don't get that many views, that's a well edited highlight compilation with only 33k

It's pure fame/algorithm. Youtube likes to prop up anyone who's already on top, which is why any channel tends to grow exponentially. The thing about laziness is that if you have to type in "nijisanji translated clips" as opposed to just clicking the recommended HoloEN clip in the sidebar, 90% of people aren't going to bother. As I understand Niji/Holostars get almost no exposure, even less than VShits and Tranny Shark simply because it's far easier to clip if you don't need to translate. It's very unfortunate, but I hope they can eventually strike it lucky with a clip/meme.

I mainly post about Hololive because the niji streamers I like have nothing going on worth talking about on an english language drama forum on the internet. Niji threads in other places tend to be shitty because the posters have nothing in common besides hating the shit out of Gundou and holo-seething (holo threads are no better). Niji-holo company wars have infested every forum except the official outlets and it makes me want to vomit.

I actually like idol units and dislike streamers in general so there's not much on the niji side that appeals to me aside from certain individuals that I think are entertaining like Mito, Tamaki and Lulu, but as a company, Ichikara is fine and more competently managed than Cover in general.

As for exposure, I can speak Japanese and don't really watch clips unless I'm looking for something to show someone else so it doesn't effect me much.

I will admit that sometimes fall into the numbers mindset. Gen 1 HoloID are my oshis, and for a while deep down i was a little upset that they've always been sidelined, especially Iofi who's got less subscribers despite collabing with people left and right. It also initially hurt a bit seeing HoloEN blast through the ID's numbers in a week. But if Iofi is okay with having a smaller dedicated fanbase and being a stepping stone for her kouhais, then i guess i should stop concernfagging so much

That's...not how that works. That's not how any of this works. Being close to your mom is not an indicator of your or your community wealth. She have a car of herself, which mean her family have more than one car since obviously her parents also have a car too. Most society regard families who have more than one automobile in their household as rich, at the very least very well off, not just ID.

High-end computers are affordable for the middle-upper class, Indonesians are not that poor. But, what is scary is that you could accuse someone of defamation by posting some stuff online and with the right lawyer you could send them into jail for like years.

Here's what I could find about Reine. I joined a smaller Discord server and there's some Indonesians digging Reine's past. They found out that she is extremely toxic, constantly swearing while playing games and etc. This means that what @Rezza said regarding her connections to toxic Indonesian elitist weebs is true. Below is a picture of her. Sadly, I couldn't find more stuff about her because the people in the server are getting scared and they nuked the channel. I wonder which conglomerate is her parents.

Also obviously not all Indonesian are poor, but most aren't middle-upper class., that's why they called middle-upper class. Streaming rig is expensive, and while yagoo do provide the Iphone, we know Cover do jack shit when it comes to microphone or the computer of the talent, those little hardwares that add to the cost.

Nah, pretty sure she uses all 3 languages equally. Just that Anya's one of those personalities within Holo that are more on the quiet side (and quite frankly, she's still a bit too stiff for me, compared to someone like Ina) so maybe that's why there aren't that many clips of her

Chill dude, there's only been like 2 or 3 people here who feel that way about Niji. Most (including myself) have been more interested in checking them out now thanks to people like Gisae explaining about them in detail and clearing out misconceptions

So apparently, Watame's manager is forcing her to take a break. And then made her extend said break an extra day. I definitely understand why though, with everything that's gone on around New Year, Christmas and 2nd fes she definitely deserves it. But then she goes and circumvents it by doing a Visage Bakatare collab later, which is as to be expected from Watame.
