Juche is more like the red-headed stepchild of Communist ideology. Most of it (isolation from the world, national self-sufficiency) is a more extreme version of Stalin's "Socialism in one country" idea but that has also fallen out of favor and most modern Communists believe in some amount of worldwide solidarity.

And on top of that, while preaching bogus doctrines like juche and shongun, North Korea is entirely dependent on foreign aid even to continue to exist, and they have to throw the occasional autistic tantrum for more gibs.

And any time I think about this, it shakes my belief that people should be allowed to express any possible opinion, no matter how bizarre. This kind of shit makes me think, well, maybe there are some opinions you just get gassed for.

People who defend North Korea think that claiming to be “socialist” means that it must be true. Worse yet, some think they have to defend everything “communist” because being critical weakens the cause. Or something.

I was long aware of anti-gay views from communists/socialists back in the day, Upton Sinclair, for example, had some views so Conservative, it likely made other conservatives cringe. HP Lovecraft was a horrendous racist and most likely anti-gay. Speaking of Orwell, he was anti-gay too. Honestly, such attitudes were pretty much the default in those days no matter what -ism you bought into. Some people with your views can be just a ignorant and shitty as your opponents. It’s not like people have to share the same brain because they have similar theories about certain issues. Also, no one has to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

That being said, I think we can all agree that ADF fits NOWHERE simply for being a bullying shitheel who hides behind whatever cause suits his/her/their/whatever purpose.

I can’t wait to see what stickers I end up with this time.
