General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Yea, supposedly Nantucket. Which was sadly how people were able to find out which animal shelter she worked at so quickly.
Yeah, I read the archive where that thread devolved into a straight stalk-fest. VTuber Drama 3 I think? I'll admit, I was actually kind of curious myself because I was so sure she was from either the NYC or Boston area based on some word choice and accent. Her choice of being from Atlantis is really clever though. An island in the Atlantic that is relatively considered a 'resort' for the wealthy. Though, if I remember correctly, they also came to the conclusion she herself was not one of the blue-bloods over there. Not that it really matters, just a tidbit.

Yea, it was madness. I'm glad they scrubbed that thread of everything they did, it was really unhinged. And really, it's sad to see the effect it's had on Gura. When she's terrified to even hit the save button because it might reveal a filepath that gives up information (something that can easily be solved by a separate 'streaming' computer, or just a separate Windows profile) I think it's affected her too much. I certainly hope she's got the mental fortitude to withstand internet weirdos, because it certainly isn't going to get easier with the 2M target painted on her back.

I will say, as disturbing as it was, watching that absolute loon go on about how he was basically the spirit of the chans reborn and how he was doing the work that needed to be done was oddly comical. Like I was waiting for a Unibomber manifesto about the necessity of the doxx to popup. Man thought he was Leonidas at Thermopylae when people were telling him to shut-the-fuck-up and not be crazy.

I had wondered what happened to Mocca lately and went looking after I totally lost track of her over a month ago. Twitter seems a little gloomy with the occasional dumb gender clowning, but not a lot of interaction. She's been streaming only on Twitch with occasional archives on a separate Youtube channel.

Did somebody cancel her or something?

I don't know who this is, but I did see some info passed around on another forum:

Mocca seems to be going through a transition period right now. She seems to have shifted entirely from "what's good Vtuber content" to "I'll just play what I want, and people can watch or not watch" and doesn't really want attention on her anymore.

Recently, a screencap of one of her videos got posted to a German news article about Vtubers, and she kinda began a scorched earth campaign on her accounts, privating her Twitter and YouTube to stay completely out of the spotlight. Her Discord server is now Twitch-sub-only, because apparently people are trying to doxx her.

Seems like she's having a time right now. I hope things get better for her.

Thanks, but that's a shame she got spooked or whatever. She's a German vtuber who seems pretty smart, does marathon streams of older titles and indie games. Last stream of hers I saw was Snatcher which she amusingly hyped as:

She's always done a bit of the ol gender-clowning, so she's not gonna click with a lot of posters here, but I don't mind cause it's of the FtWhatevs variety.

I remember seeing this one, part of the Domo cabal unfortunately but everyone that can appreciate Snatcher is ok in my book (insert rant about best port)

I normally don't watch these vtubers because I have no idea what they're saying and the ones I do understand play shit I don't care about, but I decided to check out Korone playing Sonic 2 because she seems fairly funny from clips I've seen.

I skipped around to the end and see her getting immediately addicted to the slot machines in Casino Night Zone, getting bodied in Metropolis Zone in 30 minutes of pure pain if I ever heard it and enjoying the no hit run that is Death Egg Zone. Perfect first experience, as it should be.

She does seem to enjoy it, so I'm gonna wait for some subbed clips to pop up later. Her streams are long as hell though.

Man that's creepy. Nothing good comes from psycho fans trying to track you down

This, to me, is what separates vtubers from a lot of the more popular streamers. (And I know I’ve said it before, but it’s the charm to me). They all seem like even when they‘re frustrated by a hard part of a game, they’re still doing something they love, and having fun with their friends (and by friends, I mean both cohosts and community).

Whereas so many of the Nookrium/Markiplier/etc crowd seem like they‘re doing a job and feel obligated to do this stuff.

I think it's more of a mindset. I'm sure every vtuber has had streams they're not thrilled about doing, but being able to stay positive and find the fun in things is a trait you have to cultivate. The viewers are there to unwind and have a good time, and that can be easily spoiled if the streamer doesn't keep a good attitude.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but with the gen 5 3D stuff going on it made me wonder. Will Cover fly everyone besides Calli out to Japan to the studio? As of right now, EN is split between 4 different countries (4 if the Ina is Canadian or lives in Canada thing is true and if not 3), the US, Austria Canada, and Japan. Does cover want to invest in studios for more convenient and frequent use of their models and for future gens that live in the US or just pay the cheaper price of just flying them out? Kiara I'm sure has the least problem of flying out to Japan and Ina traveling to the US if she is in Canada seems like a better option for her than flying all the way out. With cover also looking for an EN vsinger, the studio can also be used for them to record music if the new singer is from the US.

As for ID, I think setting up a 3D studio in Indonesia seems more likely as all of the ID so far seem to live there with Risu and Iofi (formerly Moon as well) seemingly living together. As much as I like the ID girls, I can see their 3D debuts gathering huge attention but no where near the amount as EN would have. I'd imagine Cover would hype and promote the ever living shit out of it. I can see a couple if not at the very least Gura's 3D possibly eclipsing Coco's 3D. So with that in mind, it could be a good investment for Cover to establish a small studio and upgrade to a larger one once EN garners more members. If cover decides to not open a new studio, I can also see EN getting their at home 3D models much sooner than other JPs and just let the girls figure it out for themselves and do 3D off collabs on their own with their debuts and other big events happening in the JP studio.

I mainly just wanna see EN beat the shit out of Ame like she requested.

Edit: After remembering some of Gura's and Ame's antics with their previous identities, I can't wait for their at home 3D models. The amount of shitpost material from them is unreal

The EN Indies are turning some 4chan anon's suspicion of one particular guy who has lots of clout within the community into some sort of copypasta
