The thing is, no matter how cringe rock music may be, or any modern pop music in general for that matter, it doesn't mean we need more of it just because it's cheaper to make. 50 years ago you had less trash to choose from and consume, you could either represent the Del Shannon gang or the Miles Davis team, that was it, you had no other choice, there were 2 people in America doing music.

Nowadays every person, every individual on the planet, is a music producer, sound engineer, video editor, director of photography, script writer, podcaster, news anchor, social commentary, politician, five star army general, economist, professional rebel against the "system" and life/fitness coach, tirelessly throwing all of their MAD SKILL STACK into the dumpster fire of online like share subscribe follow bottomless pit.

And worse part of it all, the pigs who roll around in that mud of mediocrity support each other with vitriol, because they are all aware, at least on a subconscious level, that they're talentless hucksters and they HAVE to support mediocrity, because they know they'd get crushed if any merit was imposed on them.

And so with every song you put on soundcloud and with every 808 you pluck in fruity loops, you know full well you're doing it to bring the level down, to keep mediocrity rolling, hoping you'll get your five minutes of viral fame, if only you could dumb it down enough. And I hate you for it, and that's pretty much it plain and simple.
