Oh yeah. A few of Trump's pardons were from people decades ago. A lot of times they are just symbolic.I had an interesting thought earlier, can a president posthumously pardon someone after he already finished his sentence?
the salt and activated almonds when trump had pardoned george floyd would've probably overloaded the power grid.
Remember when Trump pardoned Susan B Anthony and Twitter had to race to call her a bigot because she didn't fight for black women hard enough?
But also the President can only pardon people for federal crimes, so for example Trump couldn't pardon Kyle Rittenhouse because those were all state crimes. As far as I know, Saint Floyd didn't commit any Federal crimes, but I never looked it up and won't argue if someone shows that he did. Usually street thugs like him aren't doing Federal shit though.
