The Godzilla Thread - Plus other giant monsters, no matter how popular or obscure

Ok so what I got out of this is that Kong is a pedo (will only communicate with some 7 year old Asian girl? Uh-huh)

We will know more when we see the movie, but I'm thinking there will be a group of humans looking to go against Monarch and eliminate all Titans and trying to manipulate events to make that happen.

Oh no, let me elaborate. Mechagodzilla is responsible for the initial attacks that force's Monarch and Kong's involvement and Godzilla shows up to fight his rival Kong. So they still fight, but Mechagodzilla impersonating and framing Godzilla is what got the ball rolling. That's my thought process anyway.

Since it is being said there will be definite winner in GvK I'm going to make the bold prediction that Godzilla will be the one who falls and the "King of the Monsters" moniker is given to Kong.

Its really a toss-up at this point. At the end of the day the winner isn't going to be what the director or writer thinks is the better monster but which monster is more popular with audiences and which monster has more movies in the pipeline. Its all a popularity contest mandated by corporate suits. At the very least we'll get to see these two monsters fight each other in a glorious fight that will be worth the ticket price/HBO MAX subscription and satisfy the 10 year old boy inside everyone of us.

That would take actual balls and sadly movie executives don't have that in these days. There will be a "winner" but then Godzilla and King Kong will team up to fight another monster and make peace with each other. After watching the trailer a hundred times I think I have found the main villain of the movie

Yep its MechaGodzilla. Probably powered by King Ghidorahs remaining head.

Yeah, it's gonna be similar to Ghidorah in how he got called "King Ghidorah" after taking over as the Alpha Titan. Kong might keep the title, though perhaps not as King of the Monsters.

Although who says there can be only one king, y'know? There can be two kingdoms co-existing. Like I don't think it's a coincidence the prequel comics' titles refer to each Godzilla and Kong as their own respective rulers.

Since Mothra was brought up earlier it made me think they might have 3 King's (or 2 and 1 Queen) with them being for the Land, Sea, and Sky.

Yeah, it would continue with the elemental theme from the last film. Although interestingly enough, in the last movie, it was Ghidorah who represented the element of air while Mothra was earth. I think they might be touching more on Greek mythology symbolism, though, and the gods the Titans are meant to represent (so like Godzilla may be meant to represent Pontus and Mosura Ouranos, for instance, though think she's always meant to be Gaia to stick with the earth element, so I dunno who'd be more like Ouranos).

The probable leak I saw had it go down in a manner similar to that. Kong gets the "King" moniker from beating Godzilla, but Godzilla assumes a new role as the Defender of Earth.

Hell yeah, dude. Everyone wins, but Godzilla still manages to one-up Kong in the end with a title that literally says "Without me, you have nothing."

That'd be fun.
