Whats funny to me, that I dont know enough about the stock market to participate still know the two most important rules.

Dont bet what you cant afford to lose, and dont put all your eggs in one basket.

And now they are throwing temper tantrums because of it.
I have a theory that, to a certain extent, the ""elites"" have degenerated in a similar fashion to their propagandized western serfs. What I mean by that is, much like the American public has been dumbed down over decades, the elites have become sloppy in their actions of late, taking their assumed total control for granted. The "emperors" are being seen more and more without their clothes these days.

Apparently Biden's admin is openly talking about just undoing everyone's purchases of GME stock -- literally restoring the market to an earlier state. Madness, if true.
That's literally government seizure and I can't see any legality that would allow any judge to sign off on it. If they were going to those absurd lengths, then why not reset Apple and Amazon to 2001 levels, making them basically worthless (Apple going from about $130 to about 35 cents, or Amazon going from $3200 to ten bucks)?

Add this to this list of things I love about this whole ordeal:

The amount of buzz and solidarity this is creating proves that our massive anti-establishment social tensions were not Trump’s fault and they will not go away with him. Anyone who still thinks he was the illness and not just a symptom is having a rude awakening; and we get to watch it in real time as they scramble to spin this.

Grab the popcorn.
You think they will realize any of that? You have pelosi talking about Putin to clinton, MSM talkkng about Neonazis doing this, and retards on the net blaming gamergate. I mean, it's super fun to watch, but man are they retarded. They just can't accept that maybe everyone hates these billionaires who crush small companies for a what they would call pocket change.

No adminitration, especially not this one, is gonna do jack against Bezos & friends. They would screw over everyone else instead, though, including our brave heroes of diamond fists.
Let's not underestimate Clown World and just hope our heroes get the tendies they deserve

Power, and money for what? What are they going to do with it? What happens afterwards? What's the end goal?

End goal is more power and more money, it becomes an obsession after a while. Jeff Bezos doesn't need another billion, he probably hasn't *needed* the money since he made his first million, but it'd be nice to have it...

While I do find the doomposting to be gay as fuck, I find your naivete even gayer. It's like you're five.

I don't mean to constantly be quoting 1984, since it's such a boomer reference (huxley was closer to the mark in america's future too), but since it was already brought up, here's a great quote from O'Brien on why the elites want power:

O'Brien: "Power is inflicting pain and humiliation. Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing."
"Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power."

I'm not sure they're worried about legality at the moment. There's billions to save, goyim.

What if it's NOT a few hedge funds though? What if this is a 2008 type situation where everybody bet on everybody else assuming they'd never lose?
It also makes me think of a roundabout analogy I got from a fantasy series I’ve been reading. Wit/Hoid plays at games going back eons, and actively stacks every deck he can. He very much likes setting things up where he gets something he wants win or lose; but everything grinds to a halt if the game ends in a draw. WSB and everyone holding are forcing a draw by usurping a position from people that think themselves gods, and that will have consequences.

Soros is in his 80s, our congressional leadership is elderly, and the man they shuffled to be president is essentially a corpse. Even if these were good people, they are simply decrepit to a man and the fact that Harris of all people is being shilled as a successor suggests that the establishment is utterly degenerate. Its everywhere you look.

You really think the fed would be able to snap their fingers and undo this fiasco because "it's not fair" without throwing even more gas in the fire? People are going to start going nuts and the reactions from the idiots in congress are completely divorced from the common people. This could get really bad.

And I do agree with you. I just think people need to stop fucking doomposting, and get a grip. The pandemic isn't going to last forever. The lockdowns aren't going to last forever. There's still going to be small businesses after the pandemic. Everything will go back to normal. I don't know when, but I do know this lunacy won't last forever.

For anyone on the fence, whenever someone tries to argue about this stuff, I just want you ask one thing: Why though?

"They're going to make us live in pods!"

"Why though?"

"They're gonna make us eat bugs!"

"Why though?"

"They're going to make us do X!"

"Why though?"

I can't stress this enough. Ask this whenever this sort of shit comes up, and then press them more about it.

Why? Why would they do that? What do they get out it? Wouldn't that just make them less money? Why do they care so much? How do they do this? Where do they get this stuff from? Where do they keep it? When did this start happening, and where? Who's idea was this? What's the end goal? Why are they doing this, and not something else? What are they going to afterwards? And then after that?

Ask these questions, and don't let them try to deflect from them. Ask these questions, and watch as their arguments just fall the fuck apart.

These are good questions. And it is a good exercise to weed out some of the more insane beliefs. But there are answers. They're just not always the rational ones you'd expect.

The super-wealthy aren't stupid or smart, they're a range. So just like in any organization there are those who come up with ideas and lead and others who follow and a general mess of attitudes and status signalling that influence behaviour. So Boris Johnson and other leaders get together at various venues and someone - maybe one of them, maybe some environmentalist academic grifter sponsored by the wind power lobby or real estate or whatever says we're over-populated and we need to start restoring natural land. One person says: "we can recover 10% of the land in our country" another says "Pfft! I can do 30%" there's various virtue signalling and the next thing you know multiple countries are enacting policies to try and clear 30% of developed land and return it to undeveloped land. What you have to get is that these people are as susceptible to grift and virtue signalling and trends as any other group of people and what is more, those grifts and virtues and trends are almost entirely divorced from the rest of society.

Like thermoclines in the ocean you get the odd organism straying across them and finding itself in odd waters because there's no actual absolute barrier, yet somehow you have parallel ecosystems. The hyper-wealthy regard everyone else as children who must be managed at best, or a threat at worst.

I could write a lot more but others have covered some of that and I've not the time. But the most central element is that all of them think they know better than you.

The "emperors" are being seen more and more without their clothes these days.
Especially Joe Biden if you believe the stories.

Memes aside, the CEO of WeBull in interview yesterday was saying that the industry is working on Blockchain for trades and they're close but "we're not there yet".

If and when they do, it would make "unwinding" much more technically feasible and I'm 100% certain they would try to pass it off not as seizing people's assets but simply having the ability to undo trades that were made "by mistake", "illegally" or "bypassing restrictions". I don't know what the precise phrase will be but with blockchain you don't have to take anything back - you just roll back the committed transactions.

I’m going to bust a fucking Nut the moment one of these wall street cocksuckers goes postal and takes some of his buddy’s with him before swat takes him out of the server in minecraft
wow that's weird how your post shows the rest of what you typed when I reply to it but not when I see it in the thread. huh But anyway I 100% agree

That's not pouring gas into a fire. That's throwing the security locks of a primed nuclear bomb through the room without anyone catching it. What they should consider: this issue has left wing nutjobs and right wing nutjobs agreeing on something. that is the scary part. Trump was somehow able to bring some of the middle left on his side but he couldn't do enough. Now we have basically a moment of unity where most are laughing and agreeing that this is funny. The only thing they should consider is how to fix this clearly broken and sick system so that all who are willing to play fair and responsible (hahahahaha) are treated equally.

placateposting
People like you are unironically the reason the world is in the state it's in today.
Power, and money for what? What are they going to do with it? What happens afterwards? What's the end goal?
Power and money in perpetuity. Slavery. History would show you this if you'd pay attention to it.
