I don't think they're stupid enough to fuck with something as beloved as KOTOR. It is probably the most popular Star Wars game ever made.

Then again we live in Clown reality so anything is possible I guess.

Expect it. At best it may have solid gameplay and good graphics but it will be loaded to the gills with Disney references and changes to suit the new narrative. Besides, if I do lose the bet and the game turns out to be Disney-free and great, then I get to enjoy a good game again and I get to LARP on the other side of the fence for a month.

Which of the 10,000 D+ shows is due to come out first? I've totally forgotten the schedule.

I think Book of Boba Fett is the only one with a confirmed release date, which is December 2021. The rest are still TBA.

But the Bad Batch cartoon will air sometime in 2021, so maybe before the Boba Fett show. Bad Batch will be written by Jennifer Corbett (who also wrote for the abysmal Resistance cartoon) and Matt Michnovetz (who wrote a few episodes for Filoni Wars, Rebels and Fallen Order) so the show is going to be mainly focused on Disney shit and Filoni Wars in terms of plot. The cyborg lady serving Boba Fett in the Mandalorian will also be a major character on the show which feels forced as fuck to try and add an MCU quality to this.

I mean yes, cool and custom lightsaber hilts were definitely a thing in the EU but they all had a FUNCTIONAL design and aesthetic, none of this weird ass shit that Disney is doing that looks weird as hell.

They're trying to copy fantasy knights too much, not recognizing that the Jedi have a culture and aesthetic that is different from western fantasy knights.

Not sure. Depends. My personal take?

If they do it smart, hey it could happen, they'll pepper in references to ancestors of the High Republic characters with the eventual follow up be KOTOR III being set in the High Republic permentaly wrapping it in KOTOR's mythology. If they sequel trilogy it, they'll change huge hunks of the canon to fit HR, maul existing story arcs, and even include something like Jakku as bonus content.

Either could happen. If it happens at all. I could see Kennedy Faction doing everything possible to stop it. Just look at how threatened they were by Luke Skywalker appearing on screen for five minutes. Revan (canon male) would eclipse their entire HR line for more than a year if this happens.

In other news, both Fall of the Republic and Thrawn's Revenge have updated. The team involved have implemented 4x mechanics and government (only for the NR currently) that greatly deepen and improve gameplay. It's like night and day (for the New Republic). They also gave the NR ships they should have had more than a year ago, after chimping out on players requesting them. This is nothing new to the team that are kindof assholes in real life. However, if you are a fan of the real Expanded universe, I can't recommend it enough.

All this talk of KOTOR remake remind me of project Apron. For those who don't know or remember a team of based programers were rebuilding the game from the ground up in the Unreal Engine.

They had completed whole levels and done amazing things showing what could be accomplished.

Then Disney killed it.

I don't know how to feel. At some point you have to believe if you hand these people a money press, give them instructions, and desperately want them to succeed that they will.

I was so excited for Apeiron too but it was inevitable. Disney has also tried to kill a total conversion mod for Arma 3 but iirc the devs are/were Russians and told them to fuck off.

If that KOTOR remake turns out to be a faithful adaptation of the original with good graphics, solid gameplay and no Disney shit, I will rename myself Aphra's bitch, change my avatar to Dr. Aphra and suck Kennedy's femdick for a month while riding with Joe/Harris (and Iger if he's in politics by then). If I lose, I can at least enjoy a faithful return to a classic game with an updated look, and who knows, maybe dooming myself may lead to something good happening for once. Yeah, normies would totally get lost in classic D&D games. They'll want their Revan to have all the stats and be a Mary Sue, when in reality, you can't do that. Even someone like me who knows how to game the system can at most, make a beefy Consular with lots of Force energy, equipped with gadgets that somewhat get my Revan's melee strength close to that of a Jedi Guardian. But these normalfags are gonna want to have +20 across the board on all skill/attribute stats AND all the feats right off the bat.

Oh, but you must go into possible microtransactions, pre-order exclusives, or Andromeda-style shenanigans. Especially since Disney's broke, they'll need every red cent they can make off this game to even see a profit.

So anyone remember that new Darth Vader/Exogol comic from Marvel I talked about a few pages ago which serves as a tie-in for the sequels? Well they retconned it so Vader knew what Palpatine was planning all along yet did nothing to warn his son in nucanon.

Disney also tried to explain off the fact that the reason Yoda, Kenobi and Anakin's ghosts didn't warn Luke was because he lost his connection to the Force, despite that Yoda appeared just fine just to bully him in TLJ and new material saying that Kenobi and Yoda knew the future as far back as the ending to ROTJ but did nothing because fuck it despite that their order will go extinct along with the Skywalker bloodline due to Rey Palpatine refusing to start her own. Not even a throwaway "the future is always changing" explanation to at least show that even they don't fully know what might happen as there are so many different paths the future could take in visions.

Disney's obsession with these guys is baffling. They even claim that they're one of the most numerous species in the galaxy on par with humans which goes against everything established, even the prequels which are still fully canon under Disney and never show a single one of these fuckers on Coruscant despite being the heart of the galaxy where all the major alien demographics are represented in one way or another (even a fucking bothan statue got into the PT). Now they've been retconned in Disney comics as having always been around. Even in Fallen Order...

Well shit you're right. They're just weird human-selkath hybrids with the same scrotum-skin texture as the other aliens in the sequels.

Its something I've said before but all the new aliens under Disney are not just ugly but don't even feel alien, they all just look like mutated variations of baseline humans.

It gives me some serious Dune vibes with all of them reminding me of the Navigators or one of the many mutated humans from there and other franchises who've reached a creepy stage of uncanny valley deformity.
