RESTAURANTS RESIST AND REOPEN DESPITE THE FRENCH LOCKDOWN, FRENCHMEN CHANT "LIBERTY!"
In France, all restaurants and bars have been closed for several months.
A disaster for the country, where "cuisine" and "arts de la table" are a national culture, as well as an important part of the GDP.
Hundreds of thousands of restaurateurs are going bankrupt, and some commit suicide, under the amused eyes of the government.

But some restaurant owners are resisting: like this man in Nice who decided to reopen his restaurant despite the ban. He was applauded by the crowd to the shouts of "Liberté!".
Unfortunately, he was arrested immediately afterwards and placed in detention.
Note: a movement is growing in France and invites the French to disobey the measures of lockdown, from February 1st.

I've been saying all of this since the beginning: we are 100% in a state of mass psychosis.

The way people are reacting to this virus, including but not limited to getting into enraged physical fights over whether or not someone is wearing a mask, policing one another 24/7, moralizing ordinary human behavior (staying home in isolation = good, seeing others = bad/evil) barricading themselves at home and cherry-picking data to pay attention to.....it's absolute lunacy.

I don't think exercising relative caution (sanitizing, staying home if sick, isolating from sick people, etc.) is insanity, but this "new normal" nonsense full of arbitrary, ever-changing rules and goalposts (both morally and legally), safety theater (temperature checks and rapid testing) and Moral Panicking is surely going to be looked back on by many with abject horror.

Twitter comments alone give you a good picture of how much people have collectively lost their fucking minds.

Also apparently Cuomo okay'ed 25% indoor dining in NYC starting next month and the online chimpouts are out of this world.
That insanity is introduced by the media. End the media. End the frenzy.

We all have heard about game stock and wall street bets.
How can the media be destroyed via the financial markets?

I'm sure arresting increasingly desperate people trying to make a living won't be like adding gasoline to a fire.

After all, it's not like France is famous for having bloody revolutions or anything.

That is the only way this will end, people are financially up against the wall. If they are staring at poverty then they act fanatically. Still though, the west is really rich socially. If the alternative is a hand out then there won't be many in the mob because the alternative is Xbox and takeout not starvation.

The axis about which this turns is how bad things actually will get for 20-30% of the population when they do nothing, 1-2% can starve but when the failure rate grows proportionally to the consequences of failure and there is a target to attack over this then there is a revolution.

A true revolution typically occurs when a population's expectations for society aren't met and they don't get nearly what they think they will. Expectations is basically the social contract. It doesn't necessarily need starvation or intense poverty, for instance there wasn't a lot of revolution in the 30s in the USSR or during Mao's many programs when people starved left and right.

For the West I think we're coming into a situation like this at this rate. Our freedoms are being eroded every day since social media is exempt from free speech laws and worse, governments are increasingly supporting censorship. Wealth is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few, a class of elite with little connection to the people. Immigration policies and accommodation of immigrants make people feel like foreigners in their own countries. Good paying jobs are mostly dead and conditions are increasingly precarious for most people. Owning your own home or land is just a dream for most people. Social mobility is dying. Our government and elite don't even pretend to care about the people they represent (Trump gained such a following because he made the effort and convincingly persuaded people he was on their side, a real rarity in politics now).

People can tolerate a lot before they rebel, but the Chinese virus restrictions are pushing things over the edge. It basically accelerated every single factor I mentioned above with the added benefit of utterly destroying the social fabric. Entertainment and social spaces are either forbidden (clubs, theaters, restaurants etc.) or highly diminished in quality (whatever places are open, the shit quality of sports in the US at least in 2020). People are cooped up in their homes with a lot of energy they want to expend. They've taken away the "circuses" part of bread and circuses and even further destroyed opportunity all in the name of "saving us" (which they have utterly failed to do far) from a disease with dubious lethality. Nobody wants to live in a society indistinguishable from Communist China.

Healthy societies don't have revolutions. Communist Europe didn't in the 50s-70s even though it was full of repression and poverty. But once the poverty got out of hand in the 80s, things collapsed. Right now the situation is getting extremely volatile. Like do you really think Gamestop stock would be a national news story if not for this past year? People like it because they assume they're giving a gut punch to the bastards who have and are screwing them over. Society now is like a California forest full of lots of underbrush during a long drought in the middle of summer, and those hot, dry winds are starting to blow. One match is all it will take.

The whole draw of the Moderna/Pfizer (e.g. mRNA) vaccines right now is they do not prevent you from getting/spreading the coof, they just make the coof less severe.
Which is funny because they told us we needed vaccines because natural immunity wouldn't stop us from getting it & spreading it.
Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to let a nobody college grad with literally no background in healthcare do any of that in any capacity.
Urban city governments, obviously.

LA County has suspended air-quality regulations that limit the number of cremations as it handles a 'backlog' of bodies from the pandemic

Los Angeles County has temporarily lifted air-quality regulations that limit the number of cremations that can be performed monthly as officials handle a "backlog" of bodies of people who have died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The South Coast Air Quality Management District said in a news release on Sunday that it was issuing an emergency order to lift the cremation limit put in place "based on potential air quality impacts" after requests from the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner Coroner (ME-Coroner) and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

According to an order issued by South Coast AQMD, which regulates air pollution in multiple counties across Southern California, as of January 15, there were more than 2,700 bodies being stored at hospitals in LA County and at the Coroner's office and officials didn't have the resources or capability to perform cremations under current regulations.

"The current rate of death is more than double that of pre-pandemic years, leading to hospitals, funeral homes, and crematoriums exceeding capacity without the ability to process the backlog of cases," the agency said, adding that any facility planning to exceed cremation limits should file an email notice citing capacity and temperature requirements.
Los Angeles County has reported 13,848 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began, and more than 1 million cases overall.

Hospitals recently said they were running out of oxygen, while in December a coffin manufacturer said east LA was facing a wood shortage due to demand increase amid COVID-19 deaths.

The South Coast AQMD said the order lifting cremation regulations would last 10 days but may be extended as the county coroner "anticipates that another surge is approaching as a result of the New Year's holiday since deaths tend to occur 4-6 weeks after gatherings."

The agency said all other air-quality rule requirements would remain in effect during its lift on cremation restrictions.
Yo so weird how furnace technology has only devolved for 70 years and people can barely keep up with what isn't even in the millions of deaths

I think a big part of the issue we’re facing is that boomers are still in charge of practically everything. So we have politicians and public health officials who see this only from the perspective of it being a virus that can actually be deadly to them. These people already are rich or well-off and don’t really care if their kids and grandkids are completely fucked 20-30 years from now since they’ll be dead or close to it. Additionally, the only people who actually listen to the legacy media now are either leftists who want to use the media’s biased reporting to validate their own opinions and boomers who still watch garbage like CNN or read rags like the Washington Post and New York Times.

Covid hysteria is really just a symptom of the sickness that plagues the West now. Imo, people who are obsessed with Covid do it not out of a sense of legitimate concern but instead are subconsciously using it as a way to escape and excuse the lack of progress they’ve made in their life. I would be fascinated to see if there’s a correlation between the level of neuroticism someone has and their “concern” with Covid.

Yeah, we are being held down & given crumbs to eat. I do question what would it take at this point? We lack assurance that we will not be all alone if we resist.

I think things would only auto-combust above a certain amount of deprivation, but a leader or a cause clearly will do so as well. At a certain point we will either begin against them, or they will have already ended us. We grow weaker and locked out, they grow centralized and secure. History moves fast in these times.

Seems we weren't doing REAL SCIENCE all along fellas. You gotta wear TWO masks to combat covid-19 says King Dr. Fauci. We're already living in a clown world and the media already posting shit that "teaches" you how to wear two masks. How can anyone let this bullshit continue?
I sure do!

Along with California COVID Twitter, New York COVID Twitter is a hilarious spergout of insanity and exceptionalism.

Weird people would bother dating a Californian or New Yorker since they're not human beings at all.

I unironically believe that in the next few years we will see some form of government subsidized Netflix.

There's a novel called Armageddon: The Musical by Robert Rankin. In it, people receive their government welfare according to how many hours of television they have watched that week. Don't watch? No money. The hero of the novel is a guy who has the ability to sleep with his eyes open thus fooling the little cameras that are attached to everyone's TV.

You really gotta try three-ply Soft & Thick Toilet Paper wrapped around and around your face like some sort of paranoid psycho, Hypoallergenic and Septic Safe, use like 20 Triple Roll or 60 Single Roll lengths.

Got to be sure, if air gets in then so do the germs. If can still hear or see then the danger is still present. I shave a little off each end and nail gun them to the floor of my apartment door, the super got mad, but he'll die of this soon and I can't hear him half the time anyhoo.

I recommend Facui test the newest COVID mask that just came out today. You put on bag to stop the germs from coming in and you can make it a success rate of 99.98% if you use some tape. Might turn blue but that's the science clensing your body.
