This whole Merge Religion thing has been puzzling me more and more recently. The amount of times he has posted clearly fabricated "evidence" of the Merge (that auto-generated MJ song comes to mind) implies that he himself doesn't even believe in it anymore. I mean, even his rapidly degenerating brain must have realized while he was typing in the keywords for the song generator that this means he isn't actually able to travel between universes, and that the whole things is a fabrication.
