Let's scratch all this stuff about unity because we all know that ”unity” really means ”conformity”.
Instead, let's remember that Joe Biden claims to be a Catholic. He has supported pro-abortion positions throughout his career. If he is truly Catholic, then he should bear in mind what paragraphs 2270-2275 of the Catechism say about abortion and shouldn't just reach out to pro-life Americans, but should work with them. However, we all know that he will continue dismantling the scant protections afforded to the unborn.
On that note, I'll leave paragraph 2272 of the Catechism here with my own emphasis.
”Formal cooperation¹ in an abortion constitutes a grave offense². The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae...by the very commission of the offense," and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society.”
¹ for non-Catholics, formal cooperation is where you cooperate in an evil act with the intention of allowing that evil act to happen. By signing pro-abortion bills, Biden cooperates in the evil of abortion with the intention of allowing more abortions to happen. He is therefore formally cooperating in evil, which is always illicit.
² if a sin is committed, where the object of that sin is grave matter and where that sin is committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent, the sinner is in a state of mortal sin (Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1857)
