Based on his comments the other day, not fulfilling the tip goal would not be grounds for a chargeback. Phil has established that the 'transaction' when you contribute is a shout out, presumably your chosen screen name and the amount being stated verbally by Phil. As long as he can provide a clip of him doing that, the chargeback should go his way. There may be some angle if he didn't read your message, but if it was something visibly insulting, he can probably justify not reading it.

That means there is no security on him following through on any goal he sets, and his fans are stupid if they trust him at this point. He regularly removes the glasses, he restricts the vests and plays games with which ones are available/too hot to wear, and he'll stall for as long as possible before doing it. He doesn't operate in good faith and seems to enjoy refusing to comply with expectations, so they deserve to be disappointed.

He has also commented that several videos look like shit, or are pointless and boring. But at the time, he insisted it was high quality content, and people criticizing him have no merit.
Now, he says he worked with those meritless criticisms and has changed for the better, and now things are great and the criticisms are meritless.

His mentality is exactly the same and it doesn't register because he has learned exactly nothing. Maintain absolute baseline expectations, all extra money goes to The Addiction, and fuck anyone who asks for more.
The retrospective really just highlights these flaws, especially now that it's predominantly bad gameplay videos and meandering vlogs. 12 years of content, 2 retrospectives worth of actual highlight content, and entire phase of his life memoryholed but still sitting on his 'archive', monetized. Pathetic.

So, Phil believes he pioneered playing with friends, simply because he played with Rambo and put in on youtube. "I'll let you be the judge, but 12 years of content creation..."
Edit: No wonder Rambo stopped doing stuff with him, imagine wanting to play video games with a friend and the friend thought of it merely as part of his business.

Short answer: A combination of laziness, paranoia, complacency and detractors.
Long answer:
*Laziness in the fact that how he runs his streams, refusing to update and innovate. He would rather have the "fanbase research new equipment and ways to stream and drag him kicking and screaming into it.

*Paranoia in the fact that until his dying day he honestly believes he will be forever surrounded by his enemies and going to YouTube will only make it easier for said enemies to strike at him; not to mention while he lacks self awareness, he is aware enough one good salty, toxic rant could get him the boot.

*Complacency figures into his laziness but also figures into the fact that this idiot has been on YouTube for just about a decade and knows nothing about the platform, just enough to throw up his spam, pump it full of ads and wait to collect his shekels; what makes this egregious is the amount of spam he thrown up on YouTube. For all the new people this blockhead spammed about at a minimum of 30 to a max of 50 videos a day....till this day that still throws me for a loop.

*Detractors in the fact that they are the ones who takes Phil's spam, clip it and make content out of it. Detractors have become a force of nature that Phil can never escape from with new ones popping up by the day. Most of all detractors one the loudest voices cataloging and calling out and laughing at Phil's bullshit, something Phil really hates. The moron is at a point where he can't live without detractor content and coming to YouTube will as one has said "coming to the colosseum". Basically Phil doesn't have any fight left in him as he will be besieged by detractors which fits into his paranoia. A good example was his DMCA drama streams where everybody was out in full force and the mods couldn't handle it. One can note that by coming to YouTube his "fanbase" will eventually come into contact with detractor content and Phil can't have anybody break the hold he has on them.

Yea coming to YouTube is a bad idea but it is inevitable.....I can't wait!!!

He might be referring to his normal moves as "buttons," which is... still equally retarded. IIRC, he often complains about how x character from any fighting game beats all of his buttons, so there's literally nothing he can do dood.

That he doesn't understand how rollback works has always been funny to me.
Sometimes he'll hit the other guy and the game will roll back a frame or two to show that the other guy actually blocked it, and DSP always screams that "It showed it hitting and it took it back!" He can't comprehend that he didn't actually hit, the game on his side just incorrectly predicted that the opponent wasn't blocking.

But there's so much that this former pro fighting game player (who could pick up a game at any point and play at a pro level if he wanted to) doesn't understand about fighting games. It's why it's always so fun to see him fail at a new one.

I gave up watching a while ago but reading this was like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. If Phil was cool I'd think he was on some great fucking drugs but God damn he's like the first dude to do everything his delusion dictates is his by default and while its funny he is really psychotic.

Phil has been sitting at $200 for hours. Not a single tip. His whales got him to the goal and then stopped hard. This is an interesting and fairly recent evolution - previously an event like this would net Phil money well over the tip goal. Now we're hard stopping at the goal. Is this a side effect of the vest streak? Just bitterness that he refused to wear the hat he promised today?
