damn the Rory style is blinding me. hmm, Hercules and Megara?
Disney’s Hercules?
Good guesses, but no.id say megara and hercules, but it seems too easy.
Nope, but it's kind of close?I'm going to go against the grain and guess Eros and Psyche. It would make SJW art sense that girl being so pretty that people start to worship her over the actual goddess of love and beaty.
Thankfully not them, either.Don't be Athena and Pallas, don't be Athena and Pallas.
man if that was Achilles, they royally screwed up on his damn legs. I can see the potential, but dang, the faces and limbs must be their Achilles heel.Good guesses, but no.
Nope, but it's kind of close?
Thankfully not them, either.

Seriously, these Rory-fied blobs are somehow supposed to be Achilles (dude with the helmet, duh) and Iphigenia (the sad girl in the flower crown). Two figures from arguably one of the saddest (at least in my opinion) Greek Tragedies turned into whatever the fuck that drawing is. It feels almost disrespectful.
What degenerate would draw a Greek myth like a rejected Cartoon Network pilot?Good guesses, but no.

It is a bit charming I'll admit, kinda reminds me of older animated movies mixed with the loose bean style of CalArts but in a good way. They know what they're doing with conveying what kind of character they're supposed to be (I'm not too knowledge about Greek mythology though) which is a step up from the usual shit you see in this thread.I had cheated and looked up the artist earlier, and idk, I thought their work was kind of charming.
Lore Olympus, I'm betting, is the webcomic you're thinking of. Hades is blue and Persephone is pink?It is a bit charming I'll admit, kinda reminds me of older animated movies mixed with the loose bean style of CalArts but in a good way. What I don't get is why some characters here are black? It's fucking Greek! I know blah blah its folklore it's fiction but can they at least respect the origins?
Could at least go the funky skin colors route like Hades and that one webtoon I forgot the name of, but that doesn't get enough likes and retweets.
You know the Greeks were always in contact with North Africans, right? You can find Minoan objects that were traded to Egypt dating back 4000 years. Sure it was shrouded with exoticism but there were plenty of black people in Grece and plenty of Greeks in Africa. They were very well acquainted with each other. What I don't get is why some characters here are black? It's fucking Greek! Yeah, except the dark skinned characters being given big ol' fuck off lips.I just assumed the "black" skin was a tan tbh, illustrating some characters are athletic/out in the sun more.
Thanks for the mini history lesson, genuinely didn't know that! I think I'm just so tired of racebending in artwork nowadays that when I see something like that persons work I instantly think it's that even if it's not. SJW art damaged me and burnt my crops. You know the Greeks were always in contact with North Africans, right? You can find Minoan objects that were traded to Egypt dating back 4000 years. His father was a Trojan prince and his mother was the Goddess of Dawn-- so if a demigod can be black then a god can be, too.
this is slowly creeping towards rcdart territory but i mean the colours are nice at least. however can we end years of learning from random people on the internet that when you draw men they somehow don't have hips.
The Greek gods are the most inbred family to ever exist, Zeus is literally born from one long line of brother-sister incest, pure greek gods will always be just Grecian.so if a demigod can be black then a god can be, too.
please don't tell me that's Kylo Ren from fucking Star Wars-Speaking of creeping towards rcdart.

I'm almost convinced this is actually rcdart and the last thing holding me back is the lack of ~trans~ characters.Speaking of creeping towards rcdart.
