General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I wish you niggies would actually post more of these "enemies" Calli has whenever it's relevant since the salt mine is funny.

Also I have not noticed a single thing different about Ina's mannerisms throughout the whole stream, but I also haven't really been focusing on the stream all that much either.

What the fuck is it about Hollow Knight and backseating?
World with an ounce of exploration tend to attract those kind of mouthbreathers.

She basically just said, and I quote
"If you guys are so annoyed at me missing every nook and cranny, maybe you should start the game and do it yourselves"
Basically, telling them to fuck off in the nicest possible way.

I mean, she's not wrong.

That's probably the best way you can respond to backseaters of any kind.

At the risk of sounding like I work for The Verge or Kotaku, I call this the Dark Souls effect.

Any game that has a long playtime, especially with even moderate difficulty, or has even-slightly-unintuitive mechanics has a tendency to have shitties crawling out of the woodwork who want to tell you you're doing it wrong if you're a streamer playing it the first time, or REALLY WANT YOU TO NOT MISS THEIR FAVORITE SIDE QUEST SO YOU HAVE TO GO OVER HERE.

Long play time seems to be the major contributor.

This became the most apparent with FromSouls games, but not limited to them. I've seen it with Minecraft, Hollow Knight, NieR Automata, Monster Hunter World, and any game that's garnered popularity among speedrunners.

Even I'm not immune to the urge to be one of those shitties, every once in awhile I'll see someone playing RE2 REmake for the first time, and man I really have to resist the urge to tell them about the trick to deal with Mr. X that makes him trivial, or that the knife is secretly the most powerful weapon in the game. But I just remind myself that those tricks kinda ruined the game for me, and without it, it's probably in my Top 10 All Time Best Games.

I think it's because the game already popular and most of the viewer already play it and finished it, they want to tell Ina some of they know, including important things. I actually comment on Calli livestream when she play Blasphemous but I stopped. Blasphemous is have more simple route rather Hollow Knight.

Edit : I think she totally stuck, she didn't have double jump.
I hope she play Ori too.

I think unless you explicitly sequence break to get someplace, it's damn near impossible to be stuck in Hollow Knight. The devs were really good to give you an out to most situations, even if they are very roundabout. She hasn't done anything major to get herself stuck that I've seen.

I wonder if Haachama took some inspiration from The Weeknd?
I'm not sure if he does it anymore, but The Weeknd did kill off his previous incarnation in the Starboy video:

Only she skilled enough to play with spike and pogo thing, wall jump and dash.

Edit : She made it.

Yeah, I def see it in Minecraft. I’ve also seen it in games with lots of stats that are hard to decipher like Kerbal, Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld or Paradox games, though sometimes it seems to be in a different spirit there.

The weirdest one I’ve seen backseating in was Slime Rancher, actually.

At the risk of restarting the doomposting counter, did twitter not freakout about Calli using the words shekels? I feel like that's something people who already have a bit of grudge against her would do.
The persons that hate calli are the classic bio on pronouns useless cunts never to debut vchubas, their opinion is worth less than toilet paper and they should hug a connected toaster and dive into a pool

Im actually more impressed that she is still advancing after 4 hours, a rarity on her were she trend to pick short games, also the best thing you can do to a backseater is completely ignore them, they were obnoxious telling her how to use the charged y attack

Edit: she is jinxing herself by saying the Tomoe Mami phrase

Absolutely right. My buddy was streaming ds3. First time play through, no backseating, no spoilers, etc in the title of the stream. So basically a "please stfu and don't ruin the game for me" message. I can't begin to tell you how many people who just stumble upon the stream, lecture how the weapon choice was wrong or the skill points were inadequately placed. Or if a boss was being fought for the first time, they just had to reveal the top 5 cheese ways to kill it or what have you.

It's quite frustrating to watch even from an outsider's perspective. I'm impressed the streamers can keep their cool and brush off those know it all comments.

A streamer I mod for, and have as a friend on steam, refuses to stream Monster Hunter World, even though it's the game he's playing the most by orders of magnitude -- he's even playing it right now as I check my friend list -- and he's actually super good at it from what I've seen. But he got tired of people "critiquing" his build, which amounts to "why aren't you using the current meta build all the speedrunners are using?"

You can't get fully stuck, but that particular spot is a bastard to get out of if you get there too early.
